The administration’s ‘Build, Build, Build’ drive continues as more connections to the north of Luzon are put up by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In order to cut the travel time from Tarlac City to Cabanatuan City by 50 minutes, the DPWH has now begun the construction of Phase 2 of the Php 3.7-billion Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLex) project.

From 70 minutes, going from Tarlac to Cabanatuan will just take 20 minutes after the completion of the Rio Chico Bridge Section.

CLLEX is a 30-kilometer expressway that begins from the connection of SCTEx and of TPLEx in Balincanaway, Tarlac City and cuts across the municipalities of La Paz, Zaragosa, and Aliaga, all the way to Caalibangbangan in Cabanatuan City.

With its completion, the CLLEX is expected to decongest the Pan Philippine Highway by 48-percent.

“The project will provide an important lateral (east-west) link for the overall expressway network in Region III and provide faster access to Cabanatuan — which is base for Pacific Ocean Coastal Area Development. The Build Build Build mandate of the President is clear — infrastructure development and progress must be felt throughout the country. The CLLex project will not only benefit 11,200 motorists per day, it will also support the socio-economic development of Regional Growth Pole Cities of Tarlac and Cabanatuan,” said DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.
