Chinese brand Haval to also bring in bigger H6 SUV
We have more Haval and hybrid news as we have received new information yet again. Earlier this week, we wrote about Great Wall Motors bringing the Haval brand locally and with that, their crossover called the Jolion. This time, it looks like they will also be bringing its bigger brother, the Haval H6 and yes, it might also be a hybrid.
Like the Jolion, the H6 will also feature charging via regenerative braking and will use a bigger 1.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The H6 in the global market comes with two engine options, a 2.0-liter, and a 1.5-liter engine. But for the local version, it looks like it will sport the 1.5-liter turbocharged gas engine which will be mated to a 7-speed DCT. The 5-seater variant we'll be getting will come in FWD and will not have its global cousin’s intelligent 4WD system.
The H6 will be 4,653 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, 1,730 mm tall, and will have a wheelbase of 2,738 millimeters, which is the same as the international variant. The SUV comes in at 2,140 kilograms and will most likely sport the same design as the global model. It will be in the same segment as the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Geely Azkarra, Cherry Tiggo 7 Pro, GAC GS4, and the MG HS.
Again, we have to wait for Haval to touch base here in the Philippines for the final specs of the compact SUV. The H6 is just below the brands H7 and H9 lines and is on its third generation. With both the H6 and Jolion coming into the crossover market, we'll have more choices for electrified crossovers that are cleaner and greener.
