Hennessey turns Ford F-150 into a 775 HP super truck

Hennessey Performance is famous for building some of the fastest and craziest vehicles in North America. From the 6-wheeled VelociRaptor 6x6 to their very own hypercar – the F5, the Texas-based tuner has done it all. Recently, Hennessey has completed work on the Venom 775, a new supertruck based on the Ford F-150, and it has the Ram 1500 TRX in its sights.

If you haven't figured out yet, the 775 in the name stands for what's under the hood. The supertruck uses the heart of a standard F-150 Crew Cab with a 5.0-liter V8 but is assisted by a 3.0-liter supercharger. Along with a new intercooler, fuel system, engine management system, and tune, the engine now produces 775 horsepower and 929 Nm torque. For reference, that's nearly double the standard F-150 and more than the Ram TRX.

Aside from the engine upgrades, Hennessey also improved the F-150's off-road handling. The Venom 775 comes standard with integrated front and rear Venom bumpers, a front LED bar, a 6-inch lift, and 20-inch Hennessey wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires. But with all the power, you might want to mind your foot before launching it over jumps or dunes.

With all the upgrades, Hennessey says the truck can sprint from 0 to 97 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 12.0 seconds. To give you an idea, that's faster than some sports cars on the market today. But to show that the new Venom 775 is faster than the Ram TRX, the tuner has released a video of the two trucks going head-to-head in a race. Not surprisingly, the super F-150 won the rolling race.

Like most Hennessey builds, the Venom 775 F-150 isn't cheap. The tuner says customers will expect to pay around USD 90,000 to 110,000 (PHP 4,500,000 to 5,500,000) depending on the add ons. Mind you the price already includes the F-150 and even comes with a 3-year warranty. Only 100 units will be made, so if you want a super truck that can out sprint some sports cars, this is it.
