Remember when Honda revealed the cute and quirky Super-One EV for the Japanese market earlier this year? Well, the pint-sized electric hatchback has officially made its way to ASEAN, and Indonesia will get first dibs on the small yet sporty EV hatch.

Just like the one revealed in Japan, the Super-One EV in Indonesia gets the same boxy and retro-inspired design. It consists of squared wheel arches, round LED daytime running lights & headlights, 15-inch black alloy wheels, stylish LED taillights, air curtain ducts, a front spoiler, and a rear wing.

Size-wise, the Super-One EV measures 3569mm long, 1573mm wide, and 1616mm tall on a 2520mm wheelbase. It also has a light curb weight of 1,090 kg and up to 140mm of ground clearance.

Driving the front wheels of the Super-One is a single electric motor that's capable of producing up to 70 kW or 95 PS and 162 Nm of torque. It is then powered by a 29.6 kWh battery pack, which gives the Super-One a range of up to 252 km on the NEDC cycle. Recharging the Super-One EV can be done via a Type 2 AC charger with up to 10 kW or a faster CCS2 DC charger that supports up to 50 kW. The former can recharge the Super-One EV in just 4.5 hours, while the latter can do it in only 30 minutes.

The Super-One also comes with several modes as standard. These include Econ, City, Normal, Sport, and Boost. Econ allows for optimized energy use to make the most out of the 29.6 kWh battery. On the other hand, City mode allows for one-pedal driving via regenerative braking, while Normal delivers a smooth and balanced performance. Sport Mode delivers a more powerful response along with a sportier sound via the Active Sound Control system that plays a virtual engine sound, while Boost fully unleashes the full 95 PS for a more immersive driving experience.

Despite being an EV, the Super-One has a reduction gearbox that mimics the feel of a 7-speed transmission, complete with the gearshift feel of traditional multi-gear transmissions. The result is a more engaging and sportier driving dynamics, especially when driving the Super-One spiritedly.

Inside, the Honda Super-One comes with a simple yet ergonomic dashboard. The driver is treated to a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Meanwhile, the center console features automatic climate control, a push-button gear selector, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Built-In.

The cabin also comes with ambient lighting, ULTRA seats that can be set to various configurations for better cargo carrying, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, Honda Connect with a digital key function, front & rear parking sensors, and the brand's suite of ADAS called Honda Sensing (collision mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, automatic high beams, lead car departure notification, and road departure mitigation).

The Honda Super-One EV starts at IDR 438,000,000 or nearly PHP 1.495 million. This makes Honda's quirky hatchback quite expensive despite its small size. Heck, it's already nearing the price range of the HR-V e:HEV and is more expensive than the recently launched BYD Atto 2 EV, which is selling for PHP 1.338 million.
