Nissan is out to expand its electric vehicle lineup in Europe.

This time out, they are set to offer a small electric city car designed specifically for urban environments with the unveiling of the all-new Pixo.

Sharing its electric platform with the Renault Twingo E-Tech, the all-new Pixo measures just 3,796mm long, 1,790mm wide, and 1,512 mm tall. Nissan says the Pixo is aimed at drivers looking for a compact EV that combines easy maneuverability with a surprisingly spacious interior.

The Pixo also introduces a new interpretation of Nissan's design language for its compact EV range. Designed by Nissan Design Europe in Paddington, London, its cube-inspired proportions are complemented by pixel-inspired lighting, a distinctive front-end design and what Nissan describes as a playful "robot face" bumper. There are also hidden "23" Easter eggs throughout the vehicle, referencing the Japanese pronunciation of Nissan.

Inside, the Pixo features a 7-inch driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. One of its key technology features is Gemini, Google's AI assistant, which is a first for the A-segment. Available in 16 languages and dialects at launch, Gemini can assist with navigation, entertainment and communication through natural voice interaction.

Despite its small footprint, Nissan says the Pixo can accommodate up to four adults. Its independent sliding rear seats allow owners to prioritize passenger space or cargo capacity, while the cabin offers 18 liters of storage. Boot capacity stands at 356 liters with the rear seats up, increasing to 1,221 liters with the seats folded. 

The Pixo is powered by a 27.5kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a claimed 259 km range using the WLTP standard. It supports 50 kW DC fast charging as standard across the range, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes. An 11 kW bidirectional AC charger, on the other hand, is also fitted for home and workplace charging.

Power comes from a 60 kW (82 PS) electric motor, while a 9.9-meter turning circle is intended to make the Pixo easier to maneuver through tight city streets. One-Pedal technology is also standard, allowing drivers to accelerate, decelerate and bring the car to a stop using the accelerator pedal. 

Nissan will also offer a range of driver assistance features, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, Lane Departure Warning and Hands-Free Parking.

The all-new Pixo will be manufactured by Renault at its Novo Mesto facility in Slovenia. Customer deliveries in Europe are scheduled to begin in early 2027, with pricing, market specifications and pre-order details expected to be announced from December 2026.
