Honda Super-ONE prototype revealed as quirky, fun EV
A compact EV that brings back the "fun" in electric driving
Proving that electric vehicles need not be boring, Honda brought some excitement to the world of compact EVs with the global debut of the Super-ONE prototype at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.
Developed under the concept “e: Dash BOOSTER,” the Super-ONE Prototype is designed to make everyday driving more exciting, combining Honda’s signature “fun to drive” spirit with the smooth, efficient performance of an electric vehicle.
Built on Honda’s lightweight N Series platform, the Super-ONE Prototype offers sporty, agile handling with a wide, stable stance enhanced by flared fenders and aerodynamic design. The exterior combines aerodynamic styling and functional design, including front and rear air ducts that improve cooling and efficiency. The driver-focused interior features supportive sport seats, a clean horizontal dashboard, and playful blue accents that highlight the car’s fun and dynamic character.
The centerpiece of the Super-ONE Prototype is Boost Mode, a driving setting developed exclusively for this model. When activated, it increases the power output for sharper acceleration and integrates a simulated 7-speed transmission along with Active Sound Control to reproduce realistic engine sounds and gear changes.
The result? An EV that feels more like a traditional performance car, complete with the tactile sensations, vibrations, and sound that make driving exciting. Boost Mode even adjusts the triple-gauge cluster and interior lighting to enhance the immersive experience.
Honda has extensively tested the Super-ONE across Japan, the U.K., and Asia to ensure strong, all-around performance in diverse road and climate conditions. Its predecessor, the Super EV Concept, also turned heads at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with an impressive hill climb run. Production of the Super-ONE is set to begin in Japan by 2026, followed by rollouts in the U.K. and Asia under different regional names.
Representing Honda’s vision of an EV that combines efficiency with true driving excitement, the Super-ONE hints at a more thrilling electric future for the brand.
