Is BYD Cars PH launching the eMAX 7 at MIAS 2025?
It looks like BYD is set to join the MPV market in PH

It seems there's no stopping BYD Cars Philippines distributor ACMobility from launching new and upcoming models. They already started the year with the debut of the Shark 6 PHEV pickup truck and they plan to release even more models this 2025.
We've already gotten wind that BYD Cars Philippines could bring the Song Max DM-i, a plug-in hybrid MPV that shares its electrified powertrain with the likes of the Seal 5 and Sealion 6. However, the brand might also reveal its EV twin – the eMAX 7.

Recently, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released new homologation documents on upcoming vehicles. One of those included the BYD eMAX 7, an all-electric MPV that could disrupt the compact MPV market. The first variant listed is called the Superior Captain which likely means it will have captain seats on the second row, making it a 6-seater MPV.
The most recent variant listed by the LTO is called the Standard which could mean it will be the base variant. More importantly, it might be the 7-seater variant thanks to its possible 2+3+3 seating layout. Both variants of the eMAX 7 measure 4710mm long, 1810mm wide, 1690mm tall, and have a 2800mm wheelbase. It's also listed to have 170mm of ground clearance and a curb weight of 1800 kg.

Power-wise, the eMax 7 will be available in two states of (electric) tune. The Superior Captain is rated to crank out 150 kW or 204 PS while the Standard is rated to produce 120 kW or 163 PS. Both will have a lithium-iron phosphate battery, an AC recharge time of 11 hours, and a DC recharge time of 45 minutes. The maximum range of the Superior Captain is at 530 km while the Standard is only good for around 420 km. That likely means the two variants will have different battery capacities.

With the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) just a month away, we cannot help but think that the electric MPV could debut next month at the World Trade Center Manila. Perhaps it might even be accompanied by new and refreshed BYD vehicles that could also make their Philippine debut at MIAS 2025. The only question now is, how many can we expect besides the eMax 7?
