Since May 2026, we've noticed that the Department of Energy (DOE) has recognized a new variant of the Ford Territory Hybrid called Platinum. Based on the initial specifications, the Territory Hybrid Platinum will get the same HEV powertrain as the Trend and Titanium X variants. But given its Platinum branding, the electrified crossover SUV may come with additional features that could make it the new top-of-the-line (TOTL) offering.

Then just recently, Ford Philippines dropped a teaser for an upcoming vehicle with the tagline “A Precious Metal”. Initially, we thought Ford Philippines might be preparing to finally launch the V6 Diesel-powered Ranger lineup, which is also available in the Platinum variant. But with the price of diesel still quite high, launching a diesel-powered vehicle these days is not ideal.

Several days later, we received an invitation from Ford Philippines for an upcoming vehicle launch, and it looks like the Blue Oval is finally ready to reveal the new TOTL variant of the Territory Hybrid. Based on the invite they sent, it's quite apparent that the Territory Hybrid Platinum is the vehicle being teased by the automaker.

Even better is the fact that the Platinum version of the Territory was just recently revealed in Vietnam last July. While it doesn't get a hybrid powertrain, it does give us a good idea of what to expect once the covers are officially off.

For starters, the Vietnamese-spec Ford Territory Platinum gets “PLATINUM” lettering on the hood for all to see. It will also have a different set of alloy wheels to make it stand out from the Titanium X and Trend models. Other than that, the rest of the exterior appears to have been carried over.

Open the doors, and the Territory Platinum greets you with quilted leather upholstery, which will likely offer better comfort and support. In addition, the front seats feature a stitched “Platinum” lettering on the backrests. Last but not least is a new 10-speaker sound system, which is an upgrade from the 8-speaker system found in the Titanium X.

The rest of the cabin has been largely carried over and includes the digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch touchscreen media system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, the rotary-style gear selector, the rear A/C vents, a wireless charging pad, and a panoramic sunroof.

With Ford PH set to reveal its latest Platinum vehicle on August 7, 2026, we're only several days away from the big debut.
