Remember when we noticed Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. (JAPI) received regulatory approval to bring a light-duty vehicle with a 1997cc gasoline engine? While the mystery vehicle was not named directly, it looks like the Jetour F700 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pickup is on its way to the Philippines. After all, JAPI did confirm that the electrified pickup will be coming to the Philippines soon.

Fast forward one week, and the Department of Energy (DOE) has officially recognized the Jetour F700 as a PHEV. Based on the agency's updated listing, the F700 PHEV is a 2026 model year vehicle and measures 5495mm long, 2050mm wide, and 1985mm tall on a 3350mm wheelbase. It also has a ground clearance of up to 210mm and a curb weight of 3,029 kg.

At the heart of the F700 is a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's assisted by two electric motors that produce 510 kW or 693 PS and a 34.13 kWh battery pack. The engine mostly serves as an onboard generator to recharge the battery pack but can also assist the electric motors, resulting in a total system output of 690 kW or 924 PS.

On battery power alone, Jetour claims the F700 can do up to 109 km without using a drop of fuel. However, it's also capable of traveling up to 1,300 km with the assistance of the 2.0L turbocharged engine serving as a range extender. Power is then sent to all four wheels via a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Like the G700, the Jetour F700 will most likely come with plenty of amenities and in-car features. These include a digital instrument panel, high-tech touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, full leather upholstery, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera system, and a host of intelligent driver aids to keep occupants safe while on the road.

Since the Jetour F700 is already on the DOE's list of recognized PHEVs, we won't have to wait long for the big reveal.
