MIAS 2022: Geely launches special edition Coolray SE
Coolray gets a refreshed look for the 2022 model year
There's a lot going on in Geely Philippines these past few months, and all of them seem headed in the direction of the carmaker becoming a major player in the industry.
Towards the end of February, the company introduced the Emgrand subcompact sedan and wowed us with the amount of equipment it had for its price. Last month alone, they tallied their highest single-month sales. And to start April, they have a new president and CEO in Yugo Kiyofuji.

It's been two years since the Philippines' best-selling subcompact crossover was launched, and it's definitely a nice time to introduce something new to make sure it stays on top of its game.
Speaking of which, the new leader of Geely Philippines revealed a surprise at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) – their most popular model, the Coolray, gets a mild update and a new SE variant for 2022.

The crossover gets a new front bumper design featuring larger intake openings and a honeycomb grille. Also worth noticing are the three stripes on the front chin splitter and side skirts like the 2022 Binyue revealed in China.
Changes around the back are much more subtle, with only the redesigned diffuser, LED taillights and a more aggressive spoiler. Lastly, the Coolray has new 18-inch wheels painted in black.

The Coolray SE retains the black and red interior of the pre-facelift model along with its powertrain, which means the crossover will continue to be powered by the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 177 PS and 255 Nm of torque.
For those who'd like to get a first glimpse of the facelifted Geely Coolray SE, head on over to the Geely booth at the Manila International Auto Salon from April 7 to April 10, 2022.
