For the longest time, Toyota Motor Philippines has never offered the Land Cruiser 300 (LC 300) in GR Sport trim. Yes, there are some gray market examples, but TMP has never brought them officially.

While some might say the GR Sport version only offers a racing-inspired kit, it does come with an upgraded suspension via the Electronic-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS), which improves off-road performance. Powertrain-wise, the GR Sport is available with either a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 or the 3.3L twin-turbo diesel engine.

Over in Japan, however, Toyota was busy giving the Land Cruiser 300 plenty of upgrades for the 2027 model year. For starters, the LC 300 GR Sport is now available with a hybrid powertrain. That's right, the electrified 3.5L twin-turbo V6 version can now also be paired with the GR Sport variant. Since Toyota Motor Philippines already offers the Land Cruiser 300 HEV, we're curious if the automaker has any plans to bring the GR Sport in hybrid form.

Beyond that, Toyota also gave the LC 300 additional creature comforts. There are new power-folding 50:50 split third-row seats that can also be reclined, a flexible deck board while the third-row seats are folded (resulting in more luggage space in the back), and an accessory outlet that can deliver up to 1500W of power that can be used during blackouts or emergencies.

Other key improvements made to the LC 300 include a wireless charging pad, a cooled storage box to keep your drinks cold, a 14-speaker JBL sound system, a digital rearview mirror, and a multi-terrain monitor.

Do you think Toyota Motor Philippines should bring the Land Cruiser 300 HEV GR Sport, along with the rest of the upgrades that will be available in Japan?
