Mitsubishi launches all-black Strada Athlete for PHP 1.764M
New paint finish for Mitsubishi Strada Athlete trades chrome for black
When Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) launched the Strada Athlete last year, it was only available in two colors; White Diamond and Sunflare Orange. Paired with a black bumper garnish, 18-inch alloy black alloy wheels, and distinct body graphics, the pick-up looked mean as heck whichever direction you look at it.
But what if you prefer the Strada Athlete with an all-black finish? Lucky for you, MMPC recently launched a new all-black edition of the pick-up truck.

After launching the Xpander Black Series last month, Mitsubishi has revealed the Strada Athlete Black Series. According to the automaker, the blacked-out edition of the versatile pick-up truck projects a more tough and aggressive look to its already robust design. To complement the new paint, a blacked-out rear spoiler and front bumper were fitted, further highlighting the pick-up's more aggressive appearance.
“The addition of the new Strada Jet Black Mica color option is our way of providing more choices for our customers. We believe that a vehicle is more than just a tool of transportation but a reflection of their characteristics. With this in mind, we are committed to provide alternatives that will best represent their personality and further enhance the ownership experience,” said Takeshi Hara, president and CEO of MMPC.

Under the hood, the Strada Athlete continues to be powered by a 2.4-liter turbo-diesel MIVEC engine. It makes 181 PS at 3500 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm. Power is then sent to a six-speed automatic transmission with 4WD.
As before, the Strada Athlete comes with several smart safety features. These include forward-collision warning, ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system, blind-spot warning with lane change assist, and rear-cross traffic alert. Other available safety features present on the Stada Athlete are anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and trailer assist.

The Mitsubishi Strada Athlete is currently sold at a price of Php 1.764M for the 4WD variant and is now available at all authorized dealerships nationwide.
