Need extra income? VinFast’s Rentapasada will help you start driving for a living
VinFast’s Rentapasada makes starting a TNVS business more realistic to many Pinoys
For many Filipinos, driving for a ride-hailing service sounds like a good way to earn a living. The problem is getting started.
Buying a vehicle for TNVS use usually means preparing a hefty down payment, qualifying for financing, and taking on monthly payments before a single passenger even gets in the car. Add rising fuel prices and maintenance costs, and it’s easy to see why many aspiring drivers never make it past the planning stage.
VinFast Philippines: There’s a better way
Together with Green GSM, the company has introduced Rentapasada, a drive-to-earn program built around VinFast electric vehicles. Instead of asking drivers to purchase a vehicle outright, the program lets qualified participants start with a PHP 5,000 registration payment, while the remaining deposit and TNVS registration fees are gradually deducted from their earnings.
In simple terms, it lowers one of the biggest hurdles to entering the ride-hailing business.

Promise of big earnings
Participants keep 90% of their earnings during the first year, before shifting to 85% during the second and third years. Daily rental fees are fixed at PHP 1,050 for the Herio Green and PHP 1,350 for the larger 7-seater Limo Green, making operating costs more predictable than owning a conventional vehicle.
EV advantage
Unlike gasoline-powered vehicles, charging costs don’t fluctuate every time global oil prices move. VinFast estimates that a Herio Green driven 3,500 kilometers a month would cost roughly PHP 5,600 to charge using residential electricity rates. A comparable gasoline crossover covering the same distance could spend around PHP 15,500 on fuel alone.
Over two years, that difference in energy costs could add up to more than PHP 237,000 in savings.

Drivers also benefit from coding exemptions granted to electric vehicles under the EVIDA Law, allowing them to stay on the road even on days when conventional vehicles are restricted.
Of course, the program isn’t simply about renting a car. Drivers who complete the contract also have the option to purchase their vehicle based on its residual value, giving them a chance to eventually own the same vehicle they use to earn a living.
Will Rentapasada be for everyone? Probably not. But for someone who has always wanted to become a TNVS driver yet couldn’t afford the upfront cost of buying a vehicle, it presents an option that simply didn’t exist before.
At a time when fuel prices remain unpredictable and starting a small business feels more expensive than ever, that may be enough reason for aspiring drivers to take a closer look.
