Suzuki Philippines Inc. has officially entered its electric era. After giving us a teaser last week, the Japanese automaker has launched its first-ever battery electric vehicle (BEV).

Say hello to the Suzuki e Vitara, and yes, it’s a B-SUV that runs on pure battery power. Revealed today at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, the e Vitara serves as Suzuki’s premier EV offering and comes with plenty of features and technologies. It’s also the direct twin of the Toyota Urban Cruiser.

Beginning with its electric heart, the Suzuki e Vitara is powered by a 61 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of up to 475 km on a full charge. The battery then powers a single electric motor that drives the front wheels and puts out 174 PS and 193 Nm of torque. 

When hooked up to a 7 kW AC charging station, Suzuki says the e Vitara can recharge its battery from 10% to 100% in around 9 hours. Meanwhile, a 70 kW DC charging station can quickly replenish its battery from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

In terms of dimensions, the Suzuki e Vitara measures 4275mm long, 1800mm wide, and 1635mm tall on a 2700mm wheelbase. It also has a ground clearance of 180mm, 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 series tires, and a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters.

Hop inside, and those who are familiar with the Urban Cruiser’s interior will find a similar-looking cabin. That’s because the Toyota version essentially badge-engineered the Urban Cruiser from Suzuki. The e Vitara is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen media display that supports wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. It also has automatic climate control with rear vents, a wireless charging pad, USB charging ports, leather upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, and 40:20:40 split-folding rear seats.

Other available amenities inside the e Vitara are keyless entry with push-button start, a rotary dial gear selector, piano black trim pieces, ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel, and front & rear parking sensors.

The e Vitara is also equipped with a host of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) that serve as its suite of intelligent driver aids. These include dual sensor brake support for the front & rear, multiple collision braking, lane departure prevention with lane-keep assist, adaptive high-beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic alert, hill-hold control, and electronic stability program.
