Lexus tunes the IS 350 F Sport to over 600 PS with the IS600+
What was originally an IS350 F Sport has just been transformed into a high-performance vehicle that takes the very best of the sports sedan and cranked it all the way to 11. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the DSport IS600+, and it's the closest thing to a factory-built, track-tuned version of Lexus' popular sports sedan.
With a highly-tuned 3.5-liter V6 that's helped by a pair of billet compressor wheel turbochargers, this four-door makes over 600 PS on E85 ethanol fuel. Not only that, but it also gets liquid-to-air intercoolers that help lower intake charge temperature and improve power. Power is then sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed sequential transmission by Samsonas complete with paddle shifters.
Since this vehicle is meant to dominate the track, the chassis of the IS600+ has been stiffened thanks to a 4-point roll cage. The suspension, on the other hand, has been upgraded with KW Double Adjustable coilovers which help keep the massive Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in contact with the pavement. Allowing the sports sedan to quickly shave off speed comes courtesy of the RC F Carbon Ceramic brake pack.
To keep the weight down on the IS600+, Lexus removed the rear seats while the hood and trunk have been replaced by carbon fiber units. Last but not least, giving this Lexus a more dramatic and sportier look is the Artisan Spirits wide body and over-fender kit, along with the 19-inch Volk Racing alloy wheels.
While Lexus will not likely make a production version of the DSport IS600+ any time soon, perhaps this might give tuners inspiration to trick out and customize the IS 350 F Sport to their liking. If you have an IS 350 F Sport of your own, would you customize it like what Lexus did?
