After the 2024 Picanto, the refreshed Kia Carnival may also get the EV9-like makeover
The Picanto will not be the only Kia that will receive an EV9-like makeover for its latest refresh, it seems. Also set to get a facelift soon is the Kia Carnival, and based on recent sightings, the updated people carrier will get an (almost) similar look to the flagship EV.
Based on photos taken by Korean-based YouTuber “Shorts Cars”, the 2024 Carnival will likely get an EV9-like redesign. Despite the heavy camouflage hiding most of its exterior, the refreshed minivan will get a new pair of what looks like vertical LED headlights, along with horizontal LED daytime running lights.
Also worth mentioning are the new alloy wheels which appeared to have been taken from the digital world of Cyberpunk 2027. While the wheels look like they are concept wheels, the all-electric EV9 comes with an almost similar set of wheels.
The rear of the yet-to-be-revealed 2024 Kia Carnival also remains covered in camouflage. However, we did get to see that it could get inverted L-shaped LED taillights. Should this be true, it will be a stark departure from the horizontal taillight design of the current model.
Other details about the 2024 Kia Carnival refresh are not yet available at this time. However, the stylish people carrier is expected to be available with a hybrid powertrain derived from the Sorento. That means it could come with a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid engine with a combined output of 230 PS and 350 Nm of torque. The 2.2-liter turbo-diesel inline-four is also expected to be carried over which currently puts out 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque.
The 2024 Kia Carnival refresh could make its official debut in Korea later this year, while other markets might receive it early next year. That means we might get the updated Kia Carnival in early or mid-2024.
