Motor Image launches new Forester GT Edition in Singapore
Following the launch of the XV GT Edition last year, Motor Image Enterprise has now revealed the new Forester GT Edition in Singapore. Similar to the XV, the Forester GT Edition features a new wraparound styling kit which gives the popular crossover a sportier appeal.

The styling of the GT Edition kit builds on the Forester’s original design. It was styled in collaboration with Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, Subaru’s former chief designer. If the name isn’t familiar, Kobayashi is credited for the exterior design of more than 12 Subaru production models, including the WRX STI.

With regard to its exterior design, Forester GT Edition features a four-piece aero kit which includes a front bumper extension, a new side skirt, rear bumper extension, and roof spoiler. Completing the styling makeover are the bespoke, 18-inch GT Edition wheels.

Inside, it’s mostly the same as a standard Forester i-S EyeSight variant. The most obvious change in the GT Edition would be the white contrast padding on both the front and rear seats. It also features an 8-inch Display Audio System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. More importantly, however, it features a new 360-degree Around View Monitor Camera, allowing drivers to park and maneuver with ease.

Despite the sportier look, no changes were made to the Forester GT Edition’s powertrain. Under the hood, the 2.0-liter direct-injection, flat-four engine remains unchanged. This means it continues to produce 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque. As it is a Subaru, Symmetrical all-wheel drive comes standard. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Lineartronic CVT.

The Forester GT Edition will officially debut in the Philippines at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in April 2020. It will be making its first public appearance at the Taipei International Auto Show in December 2019. Pricing for the Forester GT Edition in the Philippines will be announced at a later date.
