Confirmed: Ferrari's new F1 team boss is Frederic Vasseur
Frederic Vasseur will take over Team Principal duties from Mattia Binotto beginning in 2023

Scuderia Ferrari's worst-kept secret has been confirmed. Starting next year, Frederic Vasseur will be appointed as the new Team Principal of Ferrari, taking over the departing Mattia Binotto.
Vasseur has been serving as Alfa Romeo Racing's Team Principal and Sauber Motorsport CEO since 2017, leading the squad's rebuild and steady climb to being a solid midfield team. This past season, Alfa Romeo achieved their best finish in the constructors' championship in a decade, ranking 6th in the standings.

“We are delighted to welcome Fred Vasseur to Ferrari as our Team Principal. Throughout his career, he has successfully combined his technical strengths as a trained engineer with a consistent ability to bring out the best in his drivers and teams. This approach and his leadership are what we need to push Ferrari forward with renewed energy,” said Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna.
“I am truly delighted and honored to take over the leadership of Scuderia Ferrari as Team Principal. As someone who has always held a lifelong passion for motorsport, Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me. I look forward to working with the talented and truly passionate team in Maranello to honor the history and heritage of the Scuderia and deliver for our Tifosi around the world,” said Vasseur.
This will mark the first time since 2004 that a Frenchman will serve as a team boss of Ferrari. The last time the Scuderia had a Frenchman at the helm in the name of Jean Todt, the Italian squad won five straight drivers' and constructors' titles. Will history repeat itself? Let us know in the comments.
