Like AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo flips colors for 2021 C41 race car
More than a color swap: Could the C41 make Alfa Romeo the top mid-field team?

As the 2021 Formula 1 season nears, teams are revealing their cars left and right. The latest squad to do so is the Alfa Romeo F1 team. In an online launch event held in Warsaw, Poland, the team pulled the covers on the C41.

By the looks of it, the color scheme is, of course, retained. After all, the red and white have become synonymous and iconic to the Alfa Romeo team. In the case of the C41, though, it's been reversed somewhat, with the white now being above the red.
It may seem like a small detail, but it does make the car look sleeker. Apart from the color scheme, most of the changes come at the front as the C41 now features a slimmer front nose and slight tweaks to the floor and diffuser areas. These comply with, of course, the 2021 regulations.

The team chose to retain its 2020 driver line-up for 2021, with veteran world champion Kimi Raikkonen, Antonio Giovinazzi, and reserve driver Robert Kubica present at the launch.
A lot is riding on the shoulders of the C41. 2020 was a particularly disappointing year for the team, with both Raikkonen and Giovinazzi only scoring a combined eight constructor points. When asked about the team's 2021 targets, Team Principal Fred Vasseur had this to say, “I think the most important thing for a racing team is to try to always improve,” said Vasseur. “Honestly, we want to improve, all the team is motivated by the same target and we have to, step by step, come back to the top of the midfield. We know that it's a long path but we are working on it and we are improving step by step.”

As is with every car launch, while we get an idea of what the car looks like, performance is still a big question mark. We won't have to wait much longer, though, as the 2021 season looks to kick-off by the end of March in Bahrain.
