Local motorsport icon Danny Santiago passed away at 65
Philippine motorsport icon and founder of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS) Danilo "Danny" Santiago has passed away, he was 65.

Philippine motorsport icon and founder of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS) Danilo "Danny" Santiago has passed away, he was 65. Santiago was monikered "Slalom King" as he dominated the local slalom circuit for many years and held the National Slalom Championship for six consecutive years. He named his team "Shago Racing" and was also a decorated Rallye driver during the heydays of the motorsport discipline in the country.
He tried to popularize autocross in 2007 with the Shago Auto-X series and later founded PACS in 2010 as a venue to further the development of grassroots motorsports and share his knowledge with new and upcoming motorsport enthusiasts and participants.

The Philippine Autocross Championship Series (PACS) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our much-beloved Founder and Race Director, Danilo "Danny" B. Santiago. Mang Danny died peacefully today with his family by his side following a brief stay in the hospital. Let us all pray for the eternal repose of Mang Danny's soul. And let us provide comfort and strength to his loved ones during this difficult time. PACS will make further announcements at the appropriate time. Thank you.
