Nyck de Vries to drive for Toyota Gazoo Racing in 2024
de Vries to drive for Toyota in LMH class of World Endurance Championship next year

Nyck de Vries may have had his maiden Formula 1 season cut short this year, but we'll be seeing more of him in the World Endurance Championship.
After a brief F1 stint with Williams and Alpha Tauri, de Vries will be driving in WEC next year with Toyota Gazoo Racing. The Japanese manufacturer has announced the Dutchman will share driving duties of the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid with another former F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi and WEC veteran Mike Conway.

Apparently, de Vries was already on his way to race for Toyota this year, but a late call-up by AlphaTauri triggered an exit clause for him to race in Formula One. However, after de Vries came up short in repeating his performances as a substitute driver for Williams last season, the Dutchman was dropped by AlphaTauri after just 10 races.
Eventually, de Vries re-entered negotiations with Toyota that resulted with him getting a WEC drive for next year. The 28-year-old Dutchman is taking over from Jose Maria Lopez, who has agreed to represent the Lexus brand in the new LMGT3 category for 2024.
Along with his WEC drive, de Vries is set to return to Formula E next year with Mahindra Racing. Prior to racing in F1, de Vries was the 2020-2021 Formula E champion with the now-defunct Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E team.
