PHP 1-million prize pool up for grabs in 2022 Kadayawan Drag Race
See the quarter-mile kings of the Davao City Coastal Road in action on August 27-28

This year's Kadayawan Festival in Davao City is back as a physical celebration of bountiful harvest, filling the streets with colors, artworks, and blaring music. Together with its return, the festival will also be home to the sounds of race cars blasting through the quarter-mile.
Team 1.3 Garage will be staging the 2022 Kadayawan Festival quarter-mile drag race at the newly-constructed Davao City Coastal Road, giving one of the biggest prize pools of professional drag racing in the country.

As expected, Davao's drag racing stalwarts like Team W-Autosports headed by Willie Torres could see action in the event, together with Team Classic's Gary Dumbrique, Team Ground Image's Elben Pang and Peter Abella of Transtech who are likely to bring their own quarter-mile machines.
According to event organizer Peter Sia Jr. of Team 1.3 Garage, participants from as far as Metro Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos and Butuan are also looking forward to joining the event, which will be the first Davao drag race in a quarter-mile after prior events were done using the 1/8 mile format.
Competitors will be divided into Class A, Class B, Class C, Quick 8 and Supercars, with PHP 150,000 up for grabs for the champion of the first four categories. PHP 10,000 will also be awarded for the driver that will have the best reaction time in the event.

For interested participants, the entry fee starts at PHP 6,000. The organizers are requiring all teams to bring their own fire extinguishers for safety purposes. For other concerns, they may call Peter Sia Jr. at 09338685228 / 09176261989.
The 2022 Kadayawan Festival quarter-mile drag race competition is supported by Vice President Inday Sara Duterte – Carpio, Congressman Paolo “Pulong” Duterte, Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, Davao Classic Sports Car Club, and Prime Lube, with media partners Mindanao Times, 92.3 WT, Retro 95.5, The Racing Line and AutoIndustriya.com.
