Pope Francis puts his faith in Formula E
Formula E visits Pope Francis at the Vatican ahead of first ever Rome E-Prix

Pope Francis often gives his blessings those in need and to his special visitors. There are times however, that he also blesses vehicles. One such example would be the special Lamborghini Huracan, which was auctioned off for charity.
More recently however, he gave his blessing to a Formula E race car together with select drivers and representatives from the all-electric racing series.
Ahead of the inaugural E-Prix to be held around the streets of Rome, His Holiness Pope Francis welcomed Formula E founder and CEO Alejandro Agag, ACI president and vice-president of the FIA World Motor Sport Council Angelo Sticchi Damian, select drivers, and team representatives to his residence in Santa Marta.
Together with the championship car, they were given a private blessing before attending the papal audience.
Formula E's first ever Rome E-Prix will held on April 14, this coming Saturday. The upcoming race will be the 7th round of the 2017/2018 ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
As of the 6th round, former Formula 1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne of Techeetah leads with 109 points. 30 points behind him is Felix Rosenqvist of Mahindra Racing with 79 points currently in second place. Just 3 points behind Ronsenqvist is Sam Bird of DS Virgin Racing with 76 points, rounding off the current top three drivers in Formula E.
