Type 1 is a class...just like Prototype, GTS and GT3...Type1 cards, generally, are cards that have not been produced in a given period of time.

Luckily,the mainstream sets (6th, 7th, 8th.... eds) reproduce some cards. THat's how a friend squeezed into a type 2 tourney using my original Ice Age Necropotence, right after it was reproduced in 8th.
haven't played since DarkSteel, making this my fourth hiatus from the hobby.
