castrol magnatec

Guys, im using castrol magnatec on my 95 Lancer EL. we all know that using kerosene base flushing is bad. what if i use a cheap oil like caltex five star or supreme, can it clean my engine? we know that magnatec is a semi syn, and it leaves some oil in the engine, na lapot ba ito? kaya gusto ko mag flush using cheap oil para sigurado na malinis uli engine bago mag pour ng panibagong magnatec pag nag oil change ako. THANKS! IM NEW HERE! HOPE YOU CAN ACCOMODATE ME!

i think mas ok talaga pag engine oil talaga ang gamit pang flush para at least walang mga harmful chemicals na naiiwan or humahalo pag lagay ng new oil. may thread na about this before. try to search nalang. may mga members din dito na engine oil din ang gamit na pang flush so ok lang sya :).

recommended only if you double exceeded the targeted PMS (5000kms).

Not really a problem if you flush with oil. In fact a friend who is with Castrol actually recommended using Caltex Five Star since yun ang pinakamura para di sayang. Coz tatapon mo lang yun oil after you use it as flush. It will only run for around 15 minutes, drain it immediately.

Its safer than flushing with a kerosene based detergent.

Mga sir, bakit hindi recommended yung mga engine flush na nabibili? What does it do to the engine internals?

using lubricants with wrong viscosity causes engine wear. ;) every engine has factory recommended oil grades.

or if you run your car w/o air filters.

yup, its much safer to use cheap oil than oil flush because of its additives.

quote ko lang pero not intended na sundin nyo..ive been using Gaas para sa engine flush ng engine ...b4 d kami gumagamit ng engine flush until nasabi ng suking mekaniko namin na gumamit ng gaas pang flush..rationale nya gaas ang ginagamit nilang pang linis ng engine components pag nagpaoverhaul sila at gamit din nila sa mga sariling car nila..from there on gaas na ginagamit kong pang engine flush ko pero ginagawa ko ito via air preasure para tumulong mabuti..using castrol synthetic at maski sa change oil ko malinaw pa rin yung oil...10K na ako ngayon nag change oil.....

i don't recommend flushing or putting compressed air into the engine. may water na nagbu-build up sa compressor and minsan lumalabas ito sa spray.

i've read that u need to flush if u double exceeded the recomended pms w/c is 5,000 kms. I drive a 2001 Toyota Revo SRJ a/t 2.0L with 1RZ-E engine. it is stated in the owners manual to change oil every 10,000kms or 12 months w/c ever comes first so that is what i am doing.
Just had an oil change about 3 days ago at 60,000 kms odometer reading. Nagulat pa yung mechanic dahil sabi ko ay 10,000 na nga ang natakbo since my last oil change pero ng tingnan niya ay mapula pa daw yung dating langis.
I am using Castrol GTX with synthetic guard, 20W-50, API SL/CF. i travel around a lot and go for a long drive at least once a week.

My question is... am i doing the right thing in following the manual to change oil between 10,000kms? Do i need to flush the engine between oil change?

tanung lang ho .... ang alam ko kasi once you start using semi synth, or synthetic .... dapat stay put ka na run kasi pag bigla kang bumalik ng ordinary mineral oils ay may effect din sa mga seals and gasket mo ... parang uurong daw. is there some truth to it? if so pano kung from synthetic gusto mo nang mag convert back to mineral oils, pano ang gradual conversion nito?
