Pabili ako sa States. Which one is better suited to an 8-mpnth old green CRV?  Zaino (Z2,Z5,Z6,Z7,ZFX) is a bit more expensive than the Menzerna kit and apparently requires a lot more work to apply although I don't mind the work. Also are both better applied using a machine?

blackmagic

dude, ang alam ko Menzerna only manufactures polishes, compounds and glazes. Wala ata silang last step product.
I would suggest you get Zaino instead.

They have the water-based polymer FMJ or Full Molecular Jacket.

Yes, FMJ is their new product, I don't think there are any reviews as to how well it works long term since the product just came out... Nevertheless, a wax will still look better on a green car than most sealants. Wolfgang or Blackfire may be more suited for a dark car.

okay raw ang wolfgang according to theveed... great reviews sa inet...

as for mezerna mas kilala ata siya sa mga polishes and wala pa nga raw ang reviews...

you can never go wrong with zaino... i'm happy with it.. the problem is the price lang nga.. too expensive

Zaino recommends stripping existing wax with Dawn (a kitchen detergent) before 1st application. Wala din yata nun dito.  kbh, how many layers did you apply? how long did it last? Di na ba pwede gamitin yung non-Zaino shampoos once Zaino is applied?

The use of Dawn is heavily debated and I believe it's overhyped. I've tested using Dawn, Joy, Axion or any other dish washing detergent and it cannot remove a coat of wax that thoroughly anyway, maybe residual wax from a 1 month old wax job, but something like a week fresh wax, hardly enough to warrant the hassle of using dishwashing soap.

In addition, I honestly dont believe that there are a lot of cars out there (bnew or not) that doesn't require paint prep like polishing prior to Zaino (or any other LSP "last step product") use. If you're going to polish your car anyway, the polish will EASILY remove any wax you may have on...

The use of Z7 and Z6 in conjuction with Z2/3/5 is essential if you want to maximize Z's longevity, look and feel. The use of regular shampoo or QD will alter Z's qualities... Not by much, but it will... which brings back the question, why Z in the first place if you dont plan to keep it looking/performing like as if you're using Z?

- clearly stated by theveed... it will maximize the performance and longevity of Z but not so much.. you can still use ordinary one but Z shampoos and QD will help on the performance... it will all depend if you want to maintain it with Z products...

coat will vary... sometime i put on 3 coats sometimes even 5 or 7 depending on my time... it will last you a couple of months i guess, i put one layer everyweek dati...

Thanks for your informative replies guys. kbh, 7-coats?!Baka parang diamante na ang paint mo nun :o.

hehehe trip lang...
i've tried it lang... but Zaino is really good in 3 to 4 layers... anything above that parang konti lang ang difference
