had a compression test and result was 210 on all four cylinders

stupid question: what does this EXACTLY mean?

paging auto_xer!!!  ;D;D;D

what car?
sounds like  a strong running engine youve got there.
a compression test, although not as accurate as a leakdown test, gives you an idea how well the cylinders hold the charged air,  pressurize it (compress it) and get it ready for combustion. a bad cylinder would not be able to hold the charged air and pressurize, thus giving you a low compression reading. reasons would be bad valves, pistons, piston rings, head gasket so on and so forth.
another important aspect is the consistency of the reading across the cylinders. there shouldnt be more than 10% difference in readings between cylinders.

congratulations, youve got a ringer there!!!!

kiro, san ka nag pa compression test.  gusto ko din mag compression test, kasi according to my butt-dyno, parang nabawasan na ng kick ang kotse ko e..  how much ba?

I'm guessing a B18C1/5 but the standard is 270, minumum 140 psi. variation bet cylinders must be 28psi max.

good numbers btw, but still we don't know ur engine so the question is still in the air :)

kiro

boss clyde, boss ASCALracing...
the engine is a 4age high horse  :)

thanks sa replies.
at least kampante ako na walang sira yung engine... during the compression test kasi, it was scary... di ko alam kung ano results hahahaha

boss ASR-VTi...
sa fusion r po ako nagpacompression test, you can PM auto_xer  :)

kiro

up lang...

need more feedback  :)

thanks in advance

magkano pacompression test mo dun?

pano kung same reading across all cylinders pero super low ang reading? as in super low :(

that's a very good indication then that the engine is still in good condition. meanwhile fix your oil cap  ;)

kiro

so as long as pantay ang reading on all 4 cylinders the engine is good?

meron kasi mga low compression engines talaga diba?  :)

Jungji,

Yep, basta parehas reading sa lahat ng cylinders :)

kiro

thanks boss raymond   ;D

OT: jungji is kiro  ;)

It's odd to get the same psi or kpa figure for all cylinders.  There are cylinder pressure variations even on brand-new vehicles.

wow this got me confused boss john... anyway i should have been more specific... i should have said the readings were within the 210 area...

siguro the difference was 209 or 211 yung ibang cylinders... the difference was really very very small  :)
