Tingin niyo ba good buy ito

sabi ng iba swerte na tumaggal ng isang taon ito

pero the price is too tempting to resist

28 inch (sony)tv at an affordable price

Inputs appreciated...thanks :)

As with any surplus item, chambahan lang talaga. Pero take note though that 50hz yun electricity input niyan, dahil Japan model. Meaning magkaiba sa standard na 60hz input natin dito which means na may malaking chance na mas madali masira.

afaik, di pa cable ready ang mga jap tv's. plus, the menu/controls are in japanese characters.  i'd rather get a local 29" samsung or philips.

Yup. Would be problems are:

1.) Voltage requirements - but usually iyong mga JDM TV's ngayon auto volt na.

2.) Channel - mas mababa kasi ang ginagamit na frequency spectrum sa Japan kaya we're not sure if makukuha lahat nung channels.

3.) TV System - NTSC rin ba ang Japan? I think PAL/SECAM yata. But multi-system na rin iyong ibang mga JDM TV's.

4.) Iyong remote Japanese. Pero may univeral remote naman.

5.) Iyong mga markings Japanese. Pero puwede rin namang kapain.

6.) Iyong mga JDM TV's pag nasira walang piyesa (like sa Sony, iyong picture tube).

HTH!

Yup it's not worth it.

We bought a brand new japanese wide screen TV around 2 years ago. It literally took us months to figure out how to use the damn thing. Instruction manual and menu were in Japanese, and the thing broke down after a short time. We also had to buy a receiver for cable. Take note this was brand new, what more pa kung surplus.
In a world of compromise, some don't.
