funny, the videos i see where the supra wins is always from a running start.....you should see those from a dig coming out of the hole....it aint too pretty for the supra....
tell a supra driver that you want to race from a standing start and you'll hear all the BS excuses in the world...

Same here, Shelby beat Ferrari, something few people remember...7.0L V8 = no lag...hehehehe...although one guy in Hot Rod mag turboed his 351 Windsor powered Mustang...wonder how that will feel in a 2000lb Cobra replica.

How come though it seems the Shelby would barely keep up on the rolling start? And yeah how come no standing start? I understand the turbo lag will let the Cobra get ahead from the start but I want to see how fast the Supra can catch up if it does.

the cobra had one big disadvantage and that was aerodynamics. in those speeds, the cobra was like a brick being pushed against headwind while the supra had already built up significant boost during brake boosting before the driver let off.
i doubt if the supra could've caught up before the quarter mile marker if it had been a hole shot.
reminds me of a joke:
