mga pre,

would you recommend a JASMA type sports muffler? from what i know e di ito malakas tumunog, ibig ba sabihin sakal din ito? ???

borly

jasma mufflers adhere to sound limit set in japan, but not necessarily choked performance :) there are plenty just go to the site of jasma. pero it's in japanese lang nga

No it's not "sakal". My Tanabe exhaust is JASMA certified and it quiets down a bit at high RPM's. It has a really low and bassy sound at idle. JASMA is a certification that you conform to the Japanese law with regard to noise limits for exhaust systems.

hehe... noise is not directly proportional to efficiency. those loud mufflers you see around the streets may even be more restrictive than the quieter JASMA certified mufflers.

That's right :) What would make you justify getting a JASMA approved muffler is the quality intangibles that you get from it such as a good finish and a bette rexhaust note that is mroe pleaasing for everyday driving :) If that is something that you can have with even lesser power as a consequence of such, I bet 2 bucks you won't be disappointed with JASMA mufflers :)

Correct. But make sure your Jasma muffler is specifically designed for your car model.

JASMA mufflers limit their decibels to 90db.  :)

My bro's GSR is equipped with a Sheepdog CS muffler (JASMA rated). Kinda loud, but with a nice exhaust note.  He thought that this muffler and a Garrett Gt-series turbo would do to keep noise levels down. He plans to add a glasspack.

All part of the JDM hype. For the person who values performance more, I would rather recommend an original bolt on muffler thats specifically designed for your application regardless if its got the seal or not.
