Sources confirm that the xbox shall be named Xbox 360, the ps3 as PSX.

Its too early to tell, the upcoming games shall determine somehow.

IMO, the 2nd year will give us an idea on what these two next generation machines can do, 1st batch of games will be experimental for the developers.


Since you opened the topic, can you share some updated info on these 2 systems?

From what I know, the PS3 will have 2 versions, sporting a DVD recorder and a 160 or 250 GB storage. Backward compatible, "un-piratable" medium etc etc.

Depends if the next Forza will be better than GT5...hehehe

When I bought the PS2 there was no contest. Gotham wasn't out yet, and besides, its not GT3-style racing.

as of now, i still am a PS freak and always have been since it was introduced before pa... but hey changes may happen and this generation could be handed to microsoft. we'll see nalang siguro...

may pictures na of the xbox360 circulating around the net. it was leaked even before the official unveiling. galit na galit daw si bill gates hahahah pero sources inside microsoft says that the pictures are real. (daw!) it will have no controller port (wireless cables), colored white (parang i-pod daw), and it will stand on its side. it'll definitely be smaller and thinner than the bulky xbox.

ps3 so far very tight lipped ang sony about it. it wil be released sometime next year.

also, revolution from nintendo will be launched on or before the launch of ps3. natuto na sila sa gamecube when they launched it way later than ps2. they couldn't catch up anymore. i believe this will be the break or make console for nintendo. they promise something new, something revolutionary. sabi ng president nila that enhancing the visuals of the game is no longer the key, kelangan ng innovation on how games are played.

still....i believe xbox360 will have the brightest future of them all. sony as a company is having troubles lately. they even hired a non-japanese CEO to turn things around. the ps2 unit is keeping the company afloat as a matter of fact. if the company continues its trend, sooner or later its playstation division will also get affected.

thats because sony's consumer electronics are too d@mn expensive compare to other brands.

Yeah, I emailed my friend about this thing about Sony and was asking him about how the PSP is doing in Japan.

The PSP raw is a little nonexistent. Sobrang konti.

The saw goes for the Xbox, they would rather display anything Gundam than rather having xbox games displayed.


Nintendo should watch it. Or else, they'll be out of the home console war soon.

All I can say to Nintendo is.

1) Not all developers are like the folks at Nintendo or even Shigeru.

2) Not all gamers dig Nintendo gameplay.

Btw, the DS is doing well in US.

so di naman nagkakalayo pero for me di dahil xbot ako id go with Forza becuz

1. better AI
2. u can play online (Xbox Live)
3. graphics (woohoo sobra layo!)
4. customization galore!!!
5. add it all up imagine playing with other people from different countries with ur customized souped up car!

japan is an important market of course but nowadays, yun power ng computer games and is in the states. may stats akong nabasa sa businessweek like a month ago that mahina na yun japanese sa paglabas ng games. aside from square with their FF series, lately puro mga american games ang hit sa US like grand theft, and the games of electronic arts. 5 years ago, masmadaming hits ang mga japanese developed games pero now its the other way around.so if i'm bill gates, i won't be too concerned if the japanese won't buy my product with the way things are going.

sa nintendo naman, like sega, they might be booted out sa industry pero unlike sega, they still have a solid line of games. mistake lang ng nintendo is that they didn't recognize the trend. the people they used to make games for in the 80s are adults now and would prefer violent games (not childish ones). til now masiyadong wholesome ang nintendo and it has turned off a lot of "used-to-be" customers. they didn't go with the flow ika nga. but then they still have miyamoto and i'm still looking forward to their next zelda game...can't wait for it to be released.

Wind Waker was excellent, it easily rivals the FF series.

Miyamoto team masterpiece.

But the Gamecube made leaps in terms of allowing violent (mature) games into their lineup..

MGS and Splinter Cell alone is testament to this.

But games like Paper Mario and Smash Bros still scare mature gamers away, excellent coding but the game really is intended for children, its hard tp play through it.. you would rather switch to ur ps2 and pop in that TK5 and GT4.

I hope Nintendo revives Killer Instinct...
