Hi,
Did you know that my car's battery is now 5 years old!! It is still very strong up to now.
I bought it around year 2000.   It is a VARTA brand. Calcium Battery made in Germany.   I bought it in CATS Greenhills for about P7,000 before.
I think what made it last this long is that the battery is placed under the rear seat.
I was looking for a shop that sells this brand but it seems I cannot find one.   I can only find alternative brands such as DETA which is also made in Germany and DEKA, a US brand.
I used local branded batteries but it seems that it only lasts 1.5-2.5 years at most.
Yung Motolite Gold OEM brand on my other car only lasted about 1.5 years.  The OUTLAST on my other car lasted 8 months but replaced since there was still warranty.
So nagulat ako when I realized the VARTA lasted this long.

Yes, there is a Philippine distributor.  However, I can't remember their contact info.

You can e-mail Varta and ask for Philippine distributor info.  http://www.varta-automotive.com/eng/index2.php?p=6&content=international/index_flash.html

Never use local batteries for your European car because they will never be up to par with the specifications of Euro-spec batteries which are designed to work with European cars which require a high amperage rating due to abundance of electronic sensors.

We have different experience naman bout that Varta battery (color white). The mechanics installed one in our BMW nung ipina-ayos namin yung car sa European Motors sa Libis, costs 6,800. Then one day after 18 months, nagtataka kami kung bakit ayaw na magstart yung car so i used a tester & noticed that the battery is  at 10volts, then we have it charged & checked sa suking mekaniko, then they told us na sira na raw yung isang "cell". altough sabi nila pwede pa raw iyon magamit. but i think its useless, since 10 volts nalang yung stable volts nya. kahit e charge pa, bumabalik parin sa 10 volts after an hour.
Now im wondering na baka more than 18 months ang warranty nito at pwede kong ibalik sa casa... altough parang walang binigay na warranty card, but meron namang receipt. Sayang din naman kasi. ang mahal nung battery. :(

I have the blush-grey color 100 ampere VARTA battery.

Based from the on board computer of the car, it is usually around 12.5-13 volts most  of the time.   Kahit nang nasira yung alternator ko.  The battery read 6 volts but the car still started and I even brought the car to the repair shop which was about 20 kms away.  To add, 3 days na palang di kumakarga yung alternator but di ko napansin since nag-start pa din.

I just got a DEKA brand for my other car which is an 80 ampere battery for about P4,200.  The Deta 77 ampere (White casing) cost P4,000 lang.
the equivalent 66 ampere (walang higher than 66) Local Motolite Gold cost around P4,000 too.

So if ever anyone will buy a battery, these are the brands to consider too.

To bad to hear that, I think the warranty is 1 year lang.  Although the  international warranty card states 18 months.    They say mainit daw dito and mas malakas masira ang battery.
It is also weird but there is a discrimination on warranty here depending on the car you drive.    Retailers of Imported batteries do not give a warranty to some European cars.   Di ko nalang sasabihin what kind of car since baka may magalit.
