My fortuner 2.7 gas is scheduled for its first 1000 oil change.

Any suggestions on wahat oil to use?
What are your comments on synthetic oils like Shell Ultra... or ultra plus

The true Synthetic oils are Mobil 1, Redline, Liqui-Moly, OWS, Motul, or any oil that says it's made from Ester stocks. The new Havoline 5W-40 might be a true synthetic but I'm not sure. Shell and Castrol are not real synthetics although they claim to be. They are made from Group 3 stocks which are mineral oil based.
