I came across Hyundai Matrix in Pampanga showroom today. I got the latest brochures of their product line.

With a P649,000 Matrix,you get a
CRDi motor, 1500cc (with Variale Geometry Turbine[VGT] valve system, VTEC conterpart)
110ps@4000rpm
24.5kg-m@1900~2750

BTW, Hyndai applied 3rd Generation CommorRail technology on all their new diesel cars.

'Claims a true test of fuel economy of 13.02km/L city; 25.1km/L highway ~~test done @2500rpm @ 80kmh.

Car is egronomically packed.

Hyundai is coming out stronger. and according to the sales agent all Matrix in the Phil is out of stock. CBU delivery will be late this year or jan of 2006.

What I like about this car is it's bigger than a Honda City, Toyota Vios, Suzuki Swift; and the price is very competetive. This might be a great consideration for all those who consider getting jap cars.

Though i haven't been in one of these great alternative, i reckon this is so far the best out in the Philippine market(in it's category).

Are ther any better altevnatives you know of, too?  Post for potential car buyers.  :)

Try checking out Tsikot.com's board. Someone drove his CRDi Matrix to and from La Union on half a tank, i think.  :)

The new Matrix is a lot better than the older one specially that Cdi engine.

Practicality wise, this is a very good car.  Yun lang nga, sa looks department, medjo MOM MOBILE ang appeal.

Pano pa ma customize ang matrix?? 17 wheels and headlight washer?

I would get a ECU upgrade for this and have me some massive torque!

Nasty,
After getting our Starex, of course i mingled with the Hyundai Pampanga staff.
You can get a Matrix just now with either the 1.3 or 1.5 motor. If i remember correctly the 1.5 model is at 439,000(+6%evat).
HOWEVER, IF YOU CAN WAIT, they are getting out a GETZ CRDi 1.5!!!!! Just like the Matrix's motor!

Isn't that cool!!?!

8)

Now, for the price, it may be on the 600K region(with evat)

What I like about it is it has a true Trunk space, movable rear seats and suspension is better that Picanto and the other mini compact in it's category.

Hope this helps. ;)

the Getz look really nice compared to the Picanto.

I really hate the front of the Picanto.  The grille shape and design looks like Pubic hair.

No, it doesn't use an old mitsu engine. The Hyundai Beta engine is a clean sheet design of Hyundai.
