you're right.  it doesn't matter what brand so long as its the right type and heat-range.  spark plugs don't make more power or save gas but you can lose power and waste gas if use the wrong ones.  just buy the cheapest ones and change them regularly.  there's a shop in New Manila that cleans and tests them but if you have a stock car, just follow the manufacturer's recommendations and spend your time and money elsewhere

I tried both iridiums and NGK regular plugs for racing and I can't tell the difference.  Some engine builder's do not recommend iridiums and they've fouled on me at times.  But I use both types whenever anyway.  If you race, just have them tested and cleaned

i dont race naman e. so i guess use the cheapest one nalang and have it changed every 10,000 km i guess. tas regarding the brand, what is installed in the car is NGK, i bought NGK din this time. it was priced at 250 each.next time i'll try Denso  naman. for 120 bucks each. same lang yung itsura e.

yes.  just make sure its the heat range that the factory recommends it.  The factory manual will usually indicate the spark plug model/part number of different brands that it recommends.  You cant really tell by looks ha.  My friend was saying that the Ford casa was recommending such an expensive iridium plug for his Navigator cuz it fouled?  Beware lang of unscupulous mechanics who blame the spark plug for some other problem in your engine

ah,alright. il be careful then. kasi from what i know, basta the   thread and the thread length of plug is the same, it is ok na. well, i guess what im thinking is wrong na. the car is imported kasi e, so owners manual is missing.

What's the car model/year? Sometimes searching it on Google will give you answers, or someone here might have some first-hand experience.

crazy andy

i used what is originally installed. it was imported as a new car naman e. im just considering other brands of plug. the thing is, denso and ngk doesnt have same part number.

hmm i guess sabagay iridiums doesnt really make that much of a difference rin ! sa totoo de ko rin nafeel diff e hehe sabi mas tipid daw sa gas ng konti ! pero hinahataw ko rin kasi so useless ......

pero kng normal spark plugs i guess oo nga naman pwe na yung cheapest ones sa altis naman kasi casa changes my spark plugs every 5k ata e or something pero i think ok lang 75 lang naman ata isa e hehehe

I can feel the difference in my car from switching from Platinum to Iridium to Copper plugs. For me Iridium gives the best performance, the low end response is really stronger compared to copper and platinum. But they only last about a year for me. I've always used NGK Iridiums but I just switched to Denso Iridiums recently to give them a try plus they're a few hundred bucks cheaper.

Right now I can't say which is better. They kinda feel the same at the moment. We'll see how long the Denso plugs last.

I noticed a lack of low end performance during the Tagaytay fun run with the copper plugs. The stock SX's could keep up with me at lower revs but at higher RPM's I would leave them behind. I went back to Iridium for the better low end. ;D

yes they dont have the same part number but there's usually a chart that compares the heat range of the different part numbers so you can buy "equivalent" plugs.  Ideally a plug has light brown deposits when you remove it after normal operation.  If it is, then just look for the cheapest plug with the equivalent part number cuz it has the right heat range.  If its another color, like black or white, then you need to tune your engine first then choose a spark plug with the correct heat range to get the ideal color.  Sorry, if it seems kinda complicated but we're assuming that you don't know what plug is the right one.  Its far simpler to ask the car dealer what plug to use
