What's the difference? I'm just confused why Merc made them almost at the same time, i thought the top end of Merc was the S class? btu then again, what do i know...

i think the cls is to cater to a sportier crowd.

i think the s class is still the top of the line benz. The cls class sits between the e class and the s class in terms of pricing. :)

cls may be more of an experimental design of MB. its too avant garde for the normally conservative corporate types that will go for the s class.

Not to mention the huge difference of interior space between the two... especially in the rear seats.

The S class is always on top of it's class and it's known to be the safest car ever.  Check out the audio tour of the latest S Class.   I'd wish I had one.  ;D

the CLS is targetted at a different type of consumer as to the S class.  Basically the S class is for the chauffer driven and the CLS is for the self-driven.

come to think of it, would it be safe to say that the MB CLS is the the BMW 6 series as the MB S Class is to the BMW 7 series?
