may nakita ako toyota altis (2002 model) taxi sa may cagayan de oro 1st i cant believe it pero talagang nagkalat ang altis na taxi doon and one more thing 1.6 nga pala ito... so ano say niyo mga taxi drayber naka altis.. buti nalang di ako nakabili nyan...

Brent

Since they tested the car to be fuel efficient, I think it was the basis for it being used as a taxi.

FYI, they used the Altis as taxicabs also in Thailand.

di ba bawal na pang-taxi ang altis? okay sa cagayan ah, taxi altis hehehe... ;D

Brent

Actually if you were to really think of it, cars used as taxis must be really reliable and durable. Kasi imagine mo kung hindi edi lagi breakdown yun auto. So cars being chosen as taxi units to be viewed as reliable vehicles rather than being bulok coz they're being used as taxi.

umaasenso na pinas ah hehe, altis na ang taxis :D
siguro like yung pnp cars na altis, imaintain nilang mabuti para hindi sayang... wag nilang gawin bumpcars at parati sanang malinis...  :)

Brent

I don't think the Altis would be come banged up taxis considering medyo mahal yun para gawing bumpcar.

yup i've seen TWO already hehe. ;D here in manila.

IMHO i don't want to see my car as a taxi... thats what i think lynxxer is trying to point out. :)

peace. :D

I definitely agree with brent on this as I think this is a good benchmark on how the vechicle is well built.  Imagine, taxis are being driven almost 24 hours a day.

hi guys  8),

here in kuw8, ndi ko makapaniwala, ang lahat ng mid-sized (camry at galant) expt. maxima/cefiro e ginagawa nilang taxi. pati nga honda. kala ko nga dba meron yang exclusivity, pero mukhang sa mga bansang mayaman, as long as kikita ang company, oks lang

at saka considered ba na compact-car parin un new altis?? kc ang pagkakaintindi ko e,most cases e sa mid-sized sedan lang ang bawal gawin  taxi (expt. for hondas case- kc nasa contrata.)

i don't think we should fret about cars being used as cabs. in other countries, benzes are also used for the same purpose. it is true that cars being used as cabs show that they are reliable, IMO.  ;)

Great. Altis as taxis is an indicator na umuunlad tayo. Taxi lines are investing into bigger and better vehicles to serve us better right? Our streets will look way better with these altis', kaysa naman dun sa mga laglag na ang bumber at maingay na mga 323 and lec. ;)

Bottomline: Value for what commuters pay. :)

thats a good way to looking at it. :) i agree, there should be standards set not to only taxis but also all PUVs because it is the publics safety and comfort were talking about. its a service oriented business so they must give the best they can.

standards must be set. high ones. so what if the standards are set higher and many of the PUVs and taxis don't pass, thats for the better since they have only become a nuisance rather than a help due to so many of them that the system is already inefficient and are already clogging our roads. ;)

You may not see anymore additional Altis Taxi after the release of the Toyota Vios. They are much cheaper and fuel efficient, using the echo 1.3 VVti and echo Verso  1.5 VVti engines. They look like Mini-Altis.
