is this kind of scenario possible during dyno/dyno tuning session:

a car with mods done/installed by other shops went in for a dyno since the mods were than by other shop, the tuner intentionally lower the HP reading of the car BUT if the mods were done/installed by the shop with the dyno, the car will have its true and considerably higher HP reading.

this is done so that people will be amazed and think that the shop with dyno was really doing a great job OR if the shop with dyno wants to earn more money besides the dyno tuning session by offering this and that stuff to the car owner so his/her car will "gain" HP considerably.

is this possible especially it's very "pulitika" here in the phil. including the business industry (not just the govt). i heard that the local drag racing scene also had its fair share of "pulitika"? for me, i think this is very possible but i could also be wrong. what do you honestly think?

hmmm... since Autoplus is the only one with a Dyno, I dont think they would intentionally rig the run and lower your HP reading para magpagawa ka sa kanila.

Remember, that you also pay for the Dyno run, so in effect customer ka na din nila. Besides with the reputation the Autoplus has it wont make sense for them to do this racket.

Alot of cars with heavy mods done by other shops that went to Autoplus for a dyno were dissapointed with their wheel HP. (Ours included, it was 60hp off!) And it turned out that "kinatay" ung ECU namin plus over shaved ung head.

So if you want an accurate reading and you got money to burn, suggest you dyno your car before modification, put in the mods in wherever shop you want it fixed in then afterwards do a baseline again to see the improvement. At least you'll know kung niloko ka talaga.

Doesn't mean that because heavily modified ka that you'll have alot of HP na agad... Precision jobs do cost a premium. :-\

You can't intentionally lower the power output of an engine since it is impossible to do that.

I don't think they will have anything to gain by doing what you are hypothesizing.

They will not be servicing for Team Red Bull and JF3 Racing if they are like that.

It is also possible to bring your tuner or mechanic there to perform the tuning if you don't trust them. You can rent dyno time. But the price is still the same as with tuning.

Correction, its a common misconception that Autoplus has the only dynometer here. You'd be surprise that a lot shops has this service...I know automekanika has a 2 wheel dyno, Mato Tan has one but aint functional yet..and there are 5 more shops na meron dito sa pinas...

;D
To dream anything that you want to dream. That is the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human

really? i hope they got a good model dyno baka mas mura sa iba.... :)

It's impossible to cheat on the dyno. If it were possible then I'm sure Dynojet or any other dynamometer brands wouldn't be as popular as they are now. Remember that dynos are being used almost everywhere as far as high performance is concerned.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

Really? Pero you mean I'd still pay the same as Autoplus tuning it? ???

kung dyno reading lang, baka may friends kayo na ME student padala nyo car nyo school nila I'm sure may dyno sa laboratory nila. try nyo kung the reading will be the same as the commercial type shop. another idea lang. :D

really? where is this automekanika located and are they functional already? i heard this dyno in automekanika before but some said it was just a plan.

mato tan has one but it's not a chassis dyno like the one in autoplus. what he got is an engine dyno where it measures bhp. but there was plan that mato might have one.

kung hindi pwedeng dayain mechanically, pwede bang dayain sa software?

i understand that sa autoplus nasa isang enclosure yung dyno and you can't look at the computer monitor while the car is being dynoed right? you'll only see your car's tire spinning. so di ba sila pwedeng mag-open ng isang dyno run ng ibang car na mababa ang HP and say that you did poorly on the dyno.

OR

hindi ba nilang pwedeng ide-tune yung kotse para mababa ang lumabas na figure?

just wondering about this dyno tuning thing. i know it's the most accurate tuning tool around the world but i like to know also kung may mga loop hole na pwedeng itake advantage ng isang shop.

I think they will base line your car frist without touching anything in your car before dyno tune your car so they will have the reference if your car will increase power or not

Siguro mandaraya ka kaya takot na takot kang dayain ka. What will they get if they manipulate your dyno figures? They don't stand to gain anything. They will just tarnish their reputation by doing that. Ano naman pakialam nila kung malakas pagkagawa sa auto mo? Basta bottom line wag mo lang kalimutan magbayad para sa dyno edi walang problema.

they will get alot IF they manipulate dyno readings.

imagine, they could manipulate it to read lower so the owner will ask for suggestions and let them extract more HP from the car from this and that parts, that will let the shop with dyno earn more money right?

or they could lower the HP and let the owner think that the shop who did his install didn't do a good job then when the owner let the shop with dyno do the some more install and the shop with dyno UP the HP, it will let the owner think that the shop with dyno is really good.

for the record, i'm just asking if possible yung dayain. i'm not implying that autoplus or any other shop with dyno here in phil are resorting to this kind of tactic. all i'm asking naman is kung possible mga naisip ko.

peace!
