Don't count the STI out when it comes to modifications, a certain silver STI is making 300 (or slightly more) whp on just an upgraded turbo alone. Stock box, stock intercooler, stock injectors, not even a piggyback ECU!!!  ;D And if I'm not mistaken this is all using stock or close to stock boost pressure.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

in term of power and reliability it all goes down to dealers and performance shop support. Evos and sti are almost on par with its performance. Just check out in Australia where sti outsales EVos as there are plenty of aftermarket support. Sti padin  ;D

You're biased. Haha ;D

Me too!!! Im biased.

But seriously, either EVO or STI, you can modify it like anything and have a car that will be more than enough for the most of us.

Case in point, Subydude in the US, has a 2002 WRX originally with the 227hp engine. Right now, it has a 2.25L block with Crawford internals stroked to 2.7L. Runs a big FP turbo etc.... Makes around 500hp and driving it in the lonely roads of Nevada, the side mirrors of the cars fold by itself at 140+mph. I can't even drive the car flat out for fear of lifting of

I'm probably biased as well but there's just a certain mystique when it comes to the EVO. My EVO turns me into a hooligan everytime I get on that throttle, it's soooo much more sharper, it's sooo precise and agile.

Top Gear UK probably put it best when they said the EVO is like an F16 fighter while the Subaru is like an F15 fighter bomber.

That's not a very accurate analogy.  Actually, in the USAF and the IAF (Israel), the F-16's were used as the bombers and the F15's are used in the fighter's role (air superiority).  It's cuz the F-16 air-to-air capability is limited while the F-15's can carry twice the number of AAM's and have long-range, look-down/shoot down capability.  Top Gear UK should just stick to cars and leave the military hardware to Jane's Defense Weekly   ;)

was reading a back issue of Sport Compact Car (feb 2005) over lunch. the evo 8 got voted Sport Compact Car of the Year for second straight year..

among all the Evos i've seen/ride in.. this is my all time favorite:

of course, intoxicating din yun exhaust ng mga boxer engines :)

Same here, my all time favorite EVO is still the CP9A body style (EVO 5 and 6) especially the TME. Close runner up would be the EVO 3.

Although I like the styling of the 5, I would vote for the 7-9 because of overall balance as well as a more refreshing look for the Evo :)

Hesperus has the fastest, scariest EVO 5 around BRC.  Scared the shit out of me last time i rode shotgun in it.  Thought we were gonna go off each time a corner came up, it accelerates like a rocket you can't just shut off!  hehe   ;)

I'd choose the boxer than the Evo. Evo's are too hyped for electronics IMHO.

The 22B is my favorite of all scoobies.
