i remember seeing a manual tranny 200sx when club mitsu joined one of the trackdays of the trackhos in brc. there were 3 200sx that day.

btw; personally, me wants 200sx too.  ;D

driven both cars. both are definitely fast and have the potential to be real monsters. the cabin of the eclipse seems a bit tighter to me. overall shape is nice tho especially with nice big rims.

eclipses here are potentially cheaper to maintain. they share lots of components with the galant like the brake pads, then some things like the engine supports are those similar to other mitsu cars.

overall, i might pick the 200sx tho since there is so much more room in the engine bay. allows you to play around more with turbo configurations and placement of parts.

true. galants and eclipses share brakes and suspension parts. in addition, you could use camber kits meant for eclipses in galants.

the eclipse uses the 4G63T - so aftermarket parts are not that difficult to find. conversion to a manual tranny is also not that difficult. there are 4Gxx trannies out there.. its more difficult to find a mitsu v6 manual tranny (for the 6Axx series engines).

btw, both cars have plenty of legroom at the backseat.... if you are legless that is.  ;D

Ha-ha! :) What are you talking about? There's lots of leg room for 4 year olds back there! ;D

I'd go for the SX. Look good, drives good (a bit sluggish sometimes. Probably it's the weight)

Actually the 200SX is not heavy at all, it weighs in at 1,350 kg. :) The reason for the sluggishness could be because it was "off-boost" which can happen more often due to the automatic transmission.

mykboo

if i wer u id get the eclipse seriously kasi pag bumili ka ng 200SX maiingit nako sayo kaya mageclipse ka na para pag nabili ko SX ko in mga 10-15 years sasakay nalang kita hehehe

speedyfix

sluggish off boost but once it kicks in, whopee!!! ;D

imho get the 200sx.iba ang dating nya. slight OT: unlimited pogi points yan sa chicks! 8)

inperio

thanx for all your replies. its my uncle thats planning to get one, im just doing research for him. i think he's going for the 200sx because of your comments  ;D the hard part now is the search for a car thats nice and reasonably priced

personally i prefer the 200sx din hehe gwapo eh!

his main concern is daily maintenance since both cars are a bit rare here.

B-Boy

inperio, wudnt u consider mr2? its a good car din. low price din naman e. the thing is, its a 2 seater nga lang. but the 200sx and eclispe are also considered as 2 seater nalang din as far as im concerned coz masikip nadin ung likod e. just my 2 cent ;D

speedyfix

ah yes, the mr2. nice din to drive kaso a bit scary since it's kinda prone to snap oversteer because all of the weight is at the back.

pretty fast in stock form din, and there are a lot of manual tranny's here. shares a lot of components also with corollas so parts are not that hard to get.

plus you guys should see the widebody conversions of the local mr2 club. HOT HOT HOT is all i can say! ;D

It could be :) I never maxxed it out or even revved it past 4k RPM since it wasn't mine ;D
