Hi!

If you were to choose (working on a budget of not over 300k)

1. would you get a corona exsior, an 8g shark galant or an 88-89 190e?

cuz IMHO, a 190e looks better always than these jap cars considering both are in tip top shape.

2. anyone here who had the chance to own a 190e and a galant/corona?

    a. Which is better in terms of fuel consumption?

3. what are the cons of these benz models?

4. how much going rate ngayon ng 230e (not the 123 body but the new one)?

thnx ;D

sixpack

ang cons ng benz is maintenance cost

Paul

if that is a 190E 2.5-16, i'd get it no questions asked! pero kung hindi sa corona exsior ako. i've driven a mitsubishi before and na turn-off na ko dahil sirain ang suspension parts! so far toyota has not let me down. i'm an entusiast so it is a consideration for me the chassis of the car. the corona sits on a celica platform and that says a lot! that means you can also get the celica dynamics, if you get to tune the suspension similar to the celica. but then again, if that a 2.5-16 well, to hell with the celica!

I agree with Paul on the Mitsu Galant, sirain ang suspension. As for getting a Benz, have you considered an E36 BMW? Cheaper to maintain than a Benz. Mas mahal nga lang ng konti but it would be a newer car than the W201 Benz.

for a budget of less than 300K, i don't think you can get a decent E36, a decent E30 would fit your budget, if you can find one.  i have an E30, but it's not for sale :)

Paul

for 300k you can get an e34, given you throw morality and legality out of the window. would you believe we were offered once a 1988 bmw 635csi (a classic if i may add) for only 150k!

I have one too that is not for sale.  8)  But I think I know 2 that are... :D

As for the Benzes I have been hearing stuff that the model range you are looking at has some reliability problems.  Again this is hearsay.

Sounds good! :)  I like the comfort and elegance of the benzes.  We used to own an 91 260E.  I miss that car. :)

dude, hows fuel mileage with that car of yours? would it be definitly more of a gas guzzler dompared to the 1996 galant SS?

my friend who owns a benz told me that in the long run, maintaining a benz is cheaper than that of japanese cars.  he told me that mb parts last very long and is abundant  ::)
