the worst experience ever.

was in my crv2k2 with three friends driving normally along edsa in the pasay area going to the airport when we hear a gunshot sound.... BANG!

there is dust that is uncovering from my middle left windshield... there is a small small crack, smaller than a pellet gun bullet with a hair line crack webbing around it.

as we drive on it continues to go forward until its about my eye level. It irritates me as heLL!!!! good thing my whole front window is tinted.

we start laughing like hell thinkin it was prob an assasination attempt or something. Or maybe space debris from an asteroid that wasnt fully destroyed in the atmosphere just for kicks... its pissing me off so bad!!!!!!

why why why?!?! haha i mean jeez. the closest car to me was two car lengths away. total open space. no construction anywhere nearby. We looked at if after, all dust, the hole of the impact is so small makes you wonder even if someone threw it off a walkway bridge it wouldnt have had that kind of damage...

so only two logical possibilities. either i was going really fast when it hit me (not possible goin about 20-30kph) or the pebble was going EXTREMELY fast, and at the angle it hit, was obviously coming from high above. haha

charge it to experience but thought id share and ask how much would a new one cost as obviously i cant just leave it like that  :) we do have insurance but was just asking :)

windshields usually costs 15K upwards for originals, in addition you'll need to change your weatherstrips as well since I dont think they're reusable.

If the pebble is small enough it can easily pierce a hole on the glass surface, then the hairline starts to spread...

Sorry to hear about your incidence, luckily nobody was hurt.

I'm sorry to hear hat... Although may insurance ka pa, hassle pa rin, di ba?

Anyway, i had a similar experience way back in 1998, bago lang ako natuto mag-drive nun... I was cruising at the North Luzon Tollway, doing about 130km/h, a suddenly, a small piece of rock hit my windshield and shattered it... buti na lang din may tint....syempre, what can i do, di ako makakita... tumabi ako, then winasak ko na lang....

If you don't have anything to do, don't do it here!  ;D :P

i think they do have to change the weather strip since removing the damaged windshield will also damage the weather strip.

Sorry to hear that man...

It depends whether you are going to replace it with the original or replacement. Aguila are known for there windshields. Whether you want it laminated or temepred or normal glass they have its a matter of what you need... Cost m not pretty sure but a laminates cost twice as much as a tempered
