what brands (and their respective prices) can you suggest for intake-headers-exhaust mods on an e36 320i?

aside from i-h-e, what other mods can you suggest?

IMO, mahirap hanapan ng performance parts ang BMW (and other European cars for that matter).

you could research about parts by Alpina, Dinan, and Hartge (the "usual" BMW tuners/modifiers ;D) most likely they have performance parts for the E36 320i. though it is also very likely that those parts are expensive.  :-\

as for the intake, I'm not sure if there's a drop-in K&N filter locally available. but you could probably use a universal cone-type filter that fits your intake assembly.  :)

as for "other" mods, I would suggest a Kompressor!  ;D  alam ko merong Kompressor kit para sa 323i. I'm not sure if there's one for the 320i though.  ::)

mosselman turbo kit for the 320.

can someone post the specs of the 1997 e36 320i? I don't know if what I got was right:

BMW 320i available in saloon, coupe and cabriolet
Engine Size 1991 cc, in-line
Cylinders 6
Valves 24, VANOS
Max power output 150hp/5900rpm
Max torque 140ib ft/4200rpm
Top speed (coupe, saloon) 214km/h (214 for automatic transmission)
Top speed (cabriolet) 211km/h (207 for automatic transmission)
0-100km/h (coupe, saloon) 9.9s (10.6 for automatic transmission)
0-100km/h (cabriolet) 10.6s (11.4 for automatic transmission)

RS_Sprint

Sounds right. :)

A customer/friend had his turbocharged 320i dyno-tested at Autoplus and did 150 wheel HP but it had no i/c (no space). We did not install his turbo kit but he has his car fettled by us.

According to the owner, its a huge difference although IMHO the Mosselman manifold could have been better.

AFAIK there is both an open-type K&N and a drop-in K&N filter for the E36 320i available locally.

if the specs are right.. doesn't it seem to accelerate slower (given that its inline6) compared to the mazda3, lynx, coupe (all inline 4s and in the same 2.0L category)?

I think the reason why your 320i seems accelerate slower than 2.0L I4 sedans is because it is a RWD car and, therefore, a heavier car.  :)

i wouldn't really go as far to generalize that RWD cars are heavier. your 320i is for one thing has a slushbox so acceleration is a bit off compared to that of a manual tranny vehicle. add to that the many standard features and options you have on the car which does add weight. your comparision of a mid sized european sedan to a compact japanese sedan is like comparing apples and oranges.
