it's finally here!!! next year! early next year daw probably around feb-march of 2005. after years and years of beemer domination, darating na lexus.

7 consecutive years of JD power #1 ranking in quality and reliability. Best selling luxury car in the US, dethroning the german rivals. Best selling luxury SUV in the RX series. super exceptional mga cars na lumalabas from their Tahara plant.

any predictions anong line-up ilalabas dito? lahat kaya meron? from is, gs, ls, sc, rx, gx, lx, etc.? i think mga nasa 2.5M ang IS and the LS could go up as much as 7-8M.

We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.

will they have the toyota and lexus in one showroom or separate?

I think konti lang ilalabas nila dito considering the market of luxury cars. maybe lexus IS would be a possible na ilalabas dito :)

DTNS

astig!!!  :D  kung may pera ako, pipiliin ko ang IS kaysa sa 3-series! ;)

btw, palagay ko yung IS at LS ang most likely na ipasok ng Lexus sa market natin.  ::)

kbh

there will be new versions of the IS and GS next year
so i gues yun rin lalabas...
:)

CTH

Where'd the news come from? :) very possible to happen. diba dapat mas mura pa ang IS sa 3 series so mga 1.5M dapat? kasi lower talaga market value ng jap luxury than its euro counterparts. personally i think mas ok quality ng jap cars and its luxury models are priced fairly unlike euro cars. pero pag ganun nga na mas mahal pa lexus sa BMW, wala rin bibili sa lexus.

kbh

i think same lang... 3series and IS

like toyata and lexus ibang ibang price...
difference in price ng prado and lexus gx mga 1m
same as the landcruiser and lx470 :)

lexus really is up there with it's german competitors, sometimes above them. i've been blessed enough to own an rx330. they're coming out with a hybrid version which is a plus, but price-wise, that's another story. it handles exceptionally well, very comfortable both for the passenger and driver and eliminates outside noise well, especially if you live in a very crowded noisy city.

however, reading reviews upon reviews of the bmw 3 series vs. the IS, the 3 series still holds the title. but there's already a concept car which replaces the IS 300, it'll be called the lexus lf-c. so far i've only seen pictures of the coupe version, but no doubt there'll be a 4 door one as well.

honestly i prefer JDM than USDM. so i like nissan over infiniti, i like honda over acura, and i like toyota over lexus. lexus has this stigma of copying geman cars, and in copying, they always go one over. that's why they topped off BMW and Merc. LS like an S, IS like a 3 (E36), RX like an M-class. it's like buying counterfeit pero re-badged... ???

anyway it's just an opinion. didn't intend to rain on anybody's parade. btw, i'd choose an altezza over an IS.

i think separate showrooms ng toyota and lexus. not sure though. sa US may discussion abt this showroom thingy before they launched the brand. gusto ng mga toyota executives under one dealership but after some persuation ng mga US counterparts nila, they offered a different dealer and the move paid off well. i think dito it'll be the same story- different dealership. konte lang daw eh around 3 lang ata. so it's impossible that i-shashare nila sa toyota dealers kasi ang dami nila diba?

ang strong point naman ng lexus is their value for money. that's how the first-gen LS topped the sales nung introduction niya. it's like buying a merc for a price which is less than euro cars. pero unlike before the gap between the euro cars and lexus have shrunk. tinaas ng lexus yun price para di magmukhang so cheap. but that's how they got the market share in the first place-selling cheaper cars for the same quality which gives better value for the customer.

the lf-c concept car ok pics. pero medyo parang futuristic masiyado. siguro a couple of years down the road pa saka nila ilalabas ito. so far pics na nakita ko walang sedan eh puro coupe.

ganda ng 2006 GS series. sana they bring that here.

paul, i personally wouldn't say that lexus is a USDM. made in japan sa alam ko ang lexus. they're made from the tahara plantation. pero sa alam ko may mga ibang lexus like the rx i think na gawa sa US pero majority cars are still japanese. japanese parts, japanese engineering, japanese lahat. marketed lang sa US :) but starting 2005 lexus will be sold in japan for the very first time. after 15 years of US market, it's time to go back home for a slice of the action hehehe.

absolutely. it all depends on the persons choosing. one would be wise to choose the regular brand over something that's name brand, for whatever reason it is, typically the price. if you can afford the name brand then go for it, but if you want something that takes you from point a to point b, then that's your choosing it also saves you money. but like hondas and acuras, they perform close if not the same only difference is the name as well as the interior features; luxury=more comfort, more technological offers. either way the sales will end up in the same pocket.

however, i wouldn't call it copying. business is business for the main part. they produce something similarly priced to stay in business. eX: 3 series vs. IS vs. c-class. they'll leave it up to the consumer to decide which brand to buy. which is good for the person who's buying, it gives them more choices, it helps narrow down their decision and figure out which car is right for them. it's like other non auto companies. like nokia, sony ericsson, motorola, etc. they make designs similar at times, but their brands still do the same thing. again, they leave it to their consumers and have the chance to compete.

you're right, pero what i meant was the products were intended for the US market, but since now that you've mentrioned that they're coming back home, wouldn't that mean that parang magdodouble ang products nila? IS vs. Altezza. Ano nga ba yung Toyota counterpart ng LS?

DTNS

I believe the JDM version of the LS is called the Celsior.  :)

well kung masmura un JDM sa USDM then i'd go for the JDM na ... pero if it has the same price... USDM na! one good example is honda vs acura...
