2.4Liter & 3.0 V6 Accord now on the philippine market!! 8)

well i think the target market of these high displacement sedans have nothing to worry about soaring gas prices. i mean if ur able to pay up to 1.6M for a sedan, i don't think a gas expense of around 50,000php annually (around 10,000km of travel) will hurt.

same thing for those who purchase v8 SUVs. we all know they are gas guzzlers but for the owners, barya lang naman yun pang gastos sa gas. there's still a potential market IMO. small but nevertheless present.
We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.

Quote2.4 & 3.0?

magkano kaya gas consumptions

probably not that high... a little higher than the 2.0 but its a tradeoff for better power

I'm quite disappointed that there is no beige interior option for the black paint.

I'm also perplexed why Honda didn't offer a sporty package for the Accord (17" rims, HID, no wood), since they're touting the 240-hp.

So I finally strike-off this car from my shopping list (I'm currently shopping for a car).  Disappointing!   :-[

Bummer, what car are you considering then? Nothing beats the Accord's performance in the P1.6M car category. Stock SiRs won't even touch it, nor will Mazda 3 2L, Lynx RS, Civic 2L, X-trail 2.5L, Escape 3L. Heck, even the P3M+ 325i, Z4, all low displacement Merc kompressor engines will get beaten as well.

If I had the V6 Accord those are the cars I'd like to shame. Personally, I'd buy it even if it had 14" tansan wheels just because of the engine and just upgrade to 18" rims. The HIDs can be done aftermarket as well. Perhaps there is an aluminum or carbon fiber paneling that can be purchased in HK... sigh.

(Oops, didn't see your criteria on the other forum) - I just did a 2.4L Accord review on the other forum as well. I'm what you can call a "frustrated" car reviewer.  ;D

You know very well (from the other forum) that I agree with your argument, if power was my primary buying criteria.  But since hp isn't my main buying motivation, I've decided to remove this car from my list.

I was also considering the 2.4-liter (city driving lang kasi), but since the black didn't come in tan interior, I decided to forget about the whole thing.

There were other factors that also contributed to my taking this class of car out my list (but that's O/T already).

No, I never stated my buying criteria in the other forum  ;)  All I'm trying to say is that we've had discussions in the other forum about how good the Accord 3.0 is.  So, I totally agree with the points you raised about this car's superiority.  I even recall stating that this car is the most powerful Jap sedan in the market today.

Its more of an individual choice for me to strike it out of my shortlist  ;D

The Accord is a very nice car, the 2.0 model already proved itself as the best midsize car in the Philippine market.  And now with the 3.0 240hp engine, wow!!!

Pangit lang talaga is the stock mags, its even uglier than the ones attached to the 2.0 model.  I agree with you guys, Honda should've made the 3.0 sportier than the other models.

Hi Guys!

My boss just got one 2.4L variant, guwapo!

Based on him, ok lang naman daw yung gas consumption, better than the 2.0L daw kasi he also once had a 2nd gen CRV.
