I had nothing better to do this morning so I had a little experiment. I disconnected the rear speakers (didnt bother to actually dismount them though),and I noticed two improvements in SQ and SPL:

1) Bass was boomier;possibly due to less cancelation.
2) SQ, in all music types but particularly in Opera/Classical/Heavy Metal, Detail was excellent...music hurt my ears only at absurdly high volume levels, where distortion is normal.

Feels like I can live with this system while Im saving up for a new HU...hehehehe....

BTW, is there a way to just use all the power of any HU's internal amp for just the fronts, sort of like bridging them?

unles your headunit's internal amp has provisions for bridging...you can't.

so does this mean para ma-improve front staging ko wag ko na paganahin yung rear speakers? :)

Its suibjective, since we all have our preferences...but since Ive been saving up for a new HU with DSO/ Time Correction, I thought of playing around with my stock HU by just disabling the rear fills.

BTW, Im powering the front seps with 50w rms each (from a 4 ch amp), so I'd suppose this wouldn't help if the HU was powering the front speakers.
