If that happened to me, Id have killed somebody by now! Imagine, that was your friend ever since...

Well, she might not actually be the only case.the Chinoy circles are sometimes too exclusive, they're the only ones who really know who's rich enough to be kidnapped.

If there's one thing I actually envy though, a chinoy friend of mine was enrolled by his dad in this special driving school to learn all about "defensive driving".Imagine it, he can direct car chase sequences now! Cant wait to see him throw his Accord into snap oversteer....hehehehe

Funny story

Barely two years ago we had this class where we were suppose to interview a public official.

Classmate of ours brought his uncle that used to be a congressman. He looked kind of mestizo and brought this hot girl along.

Kept talking about how kurakot is part of the game you wont get along without it. His nephew kept saying how his uncle gets all the chicks.

Two years later... guess who it was? LOL

Not exactly related to the Roldan case, but about kidnapping nonetheless, got this from abs-cbnnews.com

Quote
2 kidnap victims released in Lanao without ransom

Two businessmen who were abducted in Iligan City recently were freed without ransom by their captors, DZMM reported Saturday.

The release came after the family of one of the victims warned that they will abduct the kidnappers' relatives if they will not release the victims.

This forced abductors to release a certain Gerard Tomawis.

Tomawis apparently belonged to an influential family in Lanao provinces.

When the victim was turned over to negotiators in Lanao del Norte province, Tomawis demanded that his fellow captive, Engineer Vincent Jariol, be also released. The two victims were subsequently released.

Police did not identify the kidnappers but stressed no ransom was paid.

I think this serves as the ultimate example of what needs to be done with regards to kidnapping, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. As the article shows, these criminals seem to suddenly become chicken shits when the tides are turned against them. They should be hanged when caught.

In a world of compromise, some don't.

imo, the chinese community should do this if anyone in their family gets kidnapped... napapansin ko ksi sa chinese community medyo takotin... kaya na bubully.

In fairness to the Chinese I dont think its because they are "takutin".

Its not so easy to act "brave" when a loved one's life is on the line. Add the fact the PNP doesnt exactly have an image of 100% efficacy then you end up with people who would rather play it safe, or what would be safer for their loved one, than take the risk of losing him/her.

if the accusations are indeed true,

nakakahiya kasi he was once a very well respected member of society (actor and politician)

R-A-Y

If he was any normal person, this news would be just it: news. Not it's a controversy. This is the price to pay for being famous. If you are famous, people look up to you, and I think it is a responsibility to set a good example to the public.

Tsk tsk tsk... so this is what actors turned politicians are like. Not to generalize them at all, but you can't help but associate the rest with him since they come from the same pool.

Not in my book...never had respect for most actors and politicians, and absolutely no respect for those WHO ARE BOTH.I have much more respect for my Philosophy and Theology teachers even when we disagree half the time.

Kyle,

I disagree.Ive seen some 14 year olds in the firing range, their dads were teaching them how to fight back.Problem is, I dont trust any civilian holding guns. Arming Chinese kids, or any kids, heck, any civilian for that matter, mamaya kasi, meron barumbado diyan, kung saan lang gamitin yung baril.Remember the Jaworski shootout and Rolito Go? No civilian should have guns...how many times do the Japanese have to teach us that? Up until now their crime rates are waaaay below ours and the US. (Hail to Shogun Tokugawa Iyeasu!!)

Politically speaking, when the State is weak, others can take advantage, like criminals and influential families.

oo nga daw, kina-career daw pati liga ng basketbol. 'pag tinatawagan daw ng foul ng referee, binabantaan na ang buhay.  :P
