hi guys, newbie here. i wanna ask your opinion about the korean made MRV-F705. is it any good? and is it real alpine? sabi nung nagbigay sakin the korean alpine is the first attempt of alpine to outsource its labor para cheaper but still uses orig alpine parts so ok daw sya, as opposed to the taiwan and china made na di na daw maganda. plus i dont have the manual anymore. any comments or reactions will be appreciated. my car is in the shop for body works and painting and as soon as it comes out i wanna set up the audio na. first time ko to gagawin so im asking the experts.

also, wat speakers are ok with this particular brand of amp? and wat kind of start up budget setup do u recommend? my car is a lancer 1989 (cat's eye)

Thanks very much :)

Marami naghahanap niyan, kahit sa ibang forums, so for a budget set up id think thats the best amp you can get.
DInig ko lang may factory defect daw yung ibang units, medyo madali daw mag-auto protect (from heat) pag nakalagay sa trunk.sa loob ng cabin mo nlang install tapos aircon ka.

i have one in my car, but it never experienced it went into protect mode.
i used it to drive my 2 10" subs
kahit matagal syang naka on and & super lakas ako magpatugtog, di nman nag protect mode.
yun nga lang kasing init na ng plantsa pag hinawakan mo.  ;D ;D ;D

From what i hear, the Korean v12s are more reliable than the china/taiwan v12s.  The latter are more prone to static than the former.  But then, that's what I hear from some users.

But personally, out of 4 F705 v12s i'd had first hand experience on, had to return 1.  The other 3 though, were ok, powering seps and sub combos in 3 other cars.  No static on those 3.  The 1 I had to return initially played the JBL GTO seps and Infinity 120.3SE sub combo, but then shut down for some reason, only playing the tweets on the seps.  Weird.  It didn't damage the other components though, so after we replaced it with another amp, ok na ulit.

I guess it's all in the luck of the draw.  IMO, better get one from a dealer that'll honor replacing it in the event of static.  For me, it's still a good budget amp.  Just don't expect branded amp performance and reliability from it.

thanks for the replies and info guys. i hope to build my first setup around this amp. tipid meal setup muna. i already have the amp so pwede na kaya 10k for seps, subs, and 2nd hand HU? tanong lang po......SQ is my preferred setup, but is it possible na may konting boom boom parin?

That would depend on the box and sensitivity rating of the sub.

10K for everything? Kulang. Kahit straight Targa.

P1,300 Seps
P1,800 Sub
P1,200 wiring kit    ??
P1,800 Ported Box ??

You have around 4K for the HU. IMO, save up for an HU that has features that would support what you really want to do with your audio system, rather than, for example, buy 2nd hand just to get one with amp outputs, then later you might want 2 amps and an EQ....

10k abot talaga pero walang HU. straight targa! sulit!

thanks for the replies......i will probably do wat u suggest, that is to invest in a good hu then ipon uli for the rest, tutal may korean 705 amp na ako..........

so wat HU do u think i should invest in? yung swak sa 705 at targa seps and sub. also aside from targa, wat other budget seps and sub wud u recommend as an alternative? sabi ng nagpamana sakin ng 705 amp ko, the best sound he got from that amp was wen he partnered it with phoenix gold seps and sub  after trying out several diff brands. wat do u guys think? salamat na marami at napaka patient nyo sa mga walang alam na katulad ko :)

BTW guys, how would u know if its made in korea or taiwan or in china? tnx

anton_lancer89,

Pioneer 4750. Sulit na sulit, dinig ko around 8K lang yata yan e.

elyb,

di ko ma-recall lahat, pero nabasa ko sa isang thread, blue ang stickers plus mas mabigat yung Korean.

boys, im planning to replace my v12 504 korea amp. ok naman siya but parang kaya pa talaga ng power ng targa sub e. what do you think dagdag ng isa pang v12 solely for sub or get a better v12 4 channel? budget kasi eh...

Retain your 4-channel amp and bridge it to power your seps.

Get a monoblock amp for your sub.

i've heard a 705 powering a set of r6a for the front stage and a single 12" targa sub.  not bad... linis ng tunog ng seps.  di nga ako makapaniwala nung narinig ko eh..

speaker placement helped a lot.. the dash of an Altis is big...
