Mitsu..Lancer 1989 4g15 Carb not EFI

Guys patulong naman...I really wanted to keep this car kaya lang recently it really pisses me off with its performance specially idling...but I already know the problem tho, its the Idle solenoid so that's out of the question...now my problem is the screw harness for the distributor from the manifold, it holds the dist with a nut but it seems lose thread. paghinihigpitan lumalambot lang :(, then I tried to remove the nut this am sumasama na yung screw...pwede bang higpitan lang yun o talagang sira na.....HAAALLP!!!! ???

although im a mits freak, im not very familiar with the 4g15, but IMHO, you oughta consult a reputable and trustworthy mechanic...sometimes tinkering with your own engine doesn't really help....
i snapped by idle sensor... (soldered it back on...he he he) when i was trying to get the air cleaner on a 4G63

4g15 1.5L, carb system, not so much of a power but city driving is such an ease...matipid sa gas "IF" you got it all fixed out. Mine is so messed up, I guess I need a mechanic that could really fix...know what i mean? Few are left in this indsutry with passion to fix...like it's all 'bout the money!? hahahah! Nways, baka u can recommend somebody maybe near caloocan??!! ;)

...Thanks Raymond....I'll dropped by sometime kaya lang this is the only car I have...so maybe I need to plan ahead ;)...nwayz, I have some list of projects that really need to get fixed:
1.Flywheel; including clutch overhaul...bearings etc.
2.Transmission Gear (if the 2nd gear synch can be fix, why not? but if not salpak na lang ng surplus, the whole gear box)
3.Drivability issue; pumapaling pag sa lubak or uneven road. Gumegewang left-right ,sudden, the whole car.
4.cguro some gaskets that needs replacement.....
The list goes on... hirap kasi mag-budget.....;) and I'm really on a tight wallet....ahahaha! la ng peraAAAAAAA!

Prioritize sir. Iyong mga ones that affect overall drivability muna.

I guess iyong paling could be a suspension, alignment problem, and or uneven tire wear or bingkong ng rims.

I have stock rims and recently balanced the 2 front wheels, kasi hand-over 'tong car sakin, and also my sister bought this third-hand onwed na or worst,been driving it for 3yrs, First impression, the car wasn't maintained before so it sure does a lot of catching-up to do...or any idea if it's worth keeping...from 3 years of maintaining it...daming gastos masyado....

you should have it estimated. see if its worth maintaining pa. baka sobrang malaki na gastos.

pero at the same time with that condition di mo rin maibenta ng matino rin.

kung you opt to repair it. suggest ko prioritize muna yung underchassis together with important engine parts /components. yung makakasiguro kang kahit sa ganyang condition maiuuwi ka sa inyo. pero baka talagang critical na rin underchassis condition mo so expect to shell out +/- 15T. from experience it can go up to 25T (shocks, bushings, tie rods, ball joints, rack ends, the list goes...)

parang ang dami problem sa gearbox. better look for surplus engines with gearbox at cguro bilhin mo na lang yun at ipalit sa kotse mo. if im not mistaken mga 20T cguro yan complete na. hanap ka na lang marunong magkabit ng makina at dagdag gastos sa rehistro. itabi mo na lang lumang engine mo for parts cannibalizing. opinion ko lang ito po. try mo sa "giant" store niya is sa banawe mga japanese surplus engines dala niya.

4g15 din makina ko pero EFI na. i'm also experiencing some weird noise sa gearbox. i scheduled to have it checked maybe before the month end pag may naipon ako

thanks for the info, bro, I'm actually fixing it gradually...nd kaya ng isang bagsak eh. ;) pardon me guys, talagang daming sira nitong ride ko kaya I have another question regarding driving, when I step on the gas it feels like it's running too rich or parang sobrang taas ng compression kasi you'd feel the vibration sa pedal and I'm thinking kung normal yun...having carb system is sometimes complicated I can't relate with some of the post on EFI and computerized system...:(

sounds like bump-steer too...have the tie rods, tie rod ends and all those rods checked...when one of those gives way while driving at speed you can forget the rest of your listed projects...

sorry for bumping this really old message from the archive. i just want to know how your lancer is doing? i seem to be having the same problem. and my car smells like gas inside. just had the fuel lines changed yesterday. i really want to get it in good condition. do you know any one stop shops that can do the engine, chassis, suspension well? and maybe even a new paint job. i'm thinking that i would save more if i only get one shop to do it. so i could bring the car there to get an estimate.

sir depends on the area where you stay.

for the amoy gas, check firewall baka may butas na at pumapasok iyong usok. What air filter are you using? if you are using plato type air filter and you don't have a breather installed on the PCV valve, natural lang po iyong amoy usok sa loob.

another thing is baka butas na rin iyong exhaust pipings mo, or iyong flooring mo butas na rin at kelangan ipa-body repair.

IMHO there's no shop that could do all three. May makikita ka, pero you'll soon find out na ia-outsource din nila sa iba iyong pintura, etc. etc. Suggestion ko is paayos mo muna makina mo kung may sira, then punta ka sa latero, then sa pintor para pahilamos, then last stop na iyong suspension.
