I think your engine got warped due to the repeated overheating. You should bring your complaints to Department of Trade. Did the overheating start when the car was still under warranty? If it did, then you might have a case.

With regards to this thread that states warped engine ng rav4... question what are the symptoms of a warped engine? both physical manifestation and sensory (feel) manifestation? and can warped engines be overhauled? Coz last year my vitara driven by my dad got overheated... and stopped 3 times. Do you think may possibility nag warp na iyun engine? Am just wondering. Right now the vitara is running fine... medyo kinda un-smooth iyun reving nya especially when running idle. Sometimes babagsak iyun rpm after u rev it. Also pag nag aircon grabe below 400 rpm to the point na mamamatay na iyun engine.

sir wag naman siguro warped engine problemahin ninyo most likely minor problems lang yan perform correct maintenance and other checks baka simple adjustments lang kung warped talaga ang dikit ng block to head malamang may pressure leak yan pa compression test mo. pero usually tear down tas iinspect manually with a smooth surface. basta alalanin lang pag over heat pag magpapasok gn bagong tubig sa makina eh dapat tumatakbo ang makina para dahan matetemper ang block mo at di papatayin ang makina at lagay tubig tas start ulit delikado yun

lets jsut hope so... may na ooverlook pa kasi ako i think nde ko pa napapaayos iyun distributor assembly and never ko pa na check ever since. pag warped engine mausok ba?and also pag nag overheat immediate ba iyun symptoms nya?

ayusin mo muna dist baka ignition problem alng kaya pumapatak ng 400 ang rpm mo. as for the symptoms depende sa pagkaoverheat and how you deal with it. as for mausok depende din maraming other factors kung bakit mausok ang makina pag warped usually leaks within the bay pag usok eh valve seal o blowby na yun o baka overrich lang dahil nga sabi mo may toyo distributor mo

ask yourself:
1. is the tailpipe smoky?
2. are you loosing water?
3. are you down on power?

if the answer is yes then it could be a warped head or maybe something more that is wrong with the car

iyun problem ko is pag nag break and nag idle parang na-totope or namamalyado iyun vitara ko. But pag umaandar la naman prob... may kuliglig sound (which btw was readjusted/retimed kaya medyo nawala na)...

your idling problem is probably due to just a dirty tb, manifold and servo.

as for the leak, iba na yun...

If in case warped na nga yung engine, what immediate repairs should be done? Cost? Baka lang kasi warped na nga yung sa kin since am losing water for no apparent reasons... Nag overheat na kasi dati yun, as in... Thanks

You can bring the head to a machine shop and have it shaved.

Check your radiator, in time the water will turn into something like thick chocolate milk, this is due to the water and oil mixing. This is caused by the oil  and water being able to penetrate through the gap that a warped head could provide.

sa likod ng ditraibutor? sa may distributor mismo o dun sa kung saan inaadjust ang timing na nakadikit siya sa makina? sa pagkaalam ko wla naman gasket or anything dun. check mo yung dipstick mo kugn pag pinapatakbo mo may tumatalsik na oil. baka blwby na check mo din pcv valve mo baka lang may toyo na kaya naglalangis sa dist. hth!

True, parang nagiging chocolate na nga yung water over time...So this means warped na nga siguro head... Should I replace the heads kagad?or have it shaved? Please advise, guys...San ba recommended shops to do this kind of repairs? Las Pinas ang location ko, pero ok lang kung north area basta ok at guaranteed naman yung repair na gagawin ng shop...Thanks....

first thing to do would be to remove the head. have it hydrotested and checked kung may warpage. once you have the results then ask the shop what they would advise for you to do. most cases kaya pa marepair yung damage.
